    Default Wipeout Movie

So, a short while ago Neill Blomkamp (movie director) posted a tweet just saying "FEISAR, AG SYSTEMS, PIR-HANA". Later he asked about places for researching Wipeout lore! Is it possible that he's interested in making a movie in Wipeout universe?
Let me know what you think!

I'd love to see a WipEout movie! The lore is super interesting and extensive, as seen in the games' instruction manuals, HellfireWZ's videos and especially Damon Fairclough's original lore from the first two games (which he himself has actually mentioned in his reply to Neill's tweet!)

Of course, I myself am very active in the fiction section of this forum, as much as it constitutes 'lore', so count me very excited to see if anything develops...

Color me intrigued. What do I have to do to get involved? Where do I apply?

I too, want to be involved in such a project one day, as I've stated numerous times that my ultimate dream as a filmmaker is to be involved in a film adaptation of WipEout. It's interesting that the same guy who's directing Gran Turismo wants to make a WipEout film. Some of the lore I wrote in the fan-fiction forums can also be of good inspiration. However, it's likely the WipEout film he'll make will focus more on the AGRC, as it will take numerous installments to cover all leagues.

It will also mean that WipEout will be the flagship centerpiece of PlayStation cinema, and this makes me really excited for the future. It will be even more of cinema than Martin Scorsese considers to be cinema.

Neil is about to stumble upon an entire movie franchise's worth of lore. There's so many ways to tie the racing action into underlying championship political intrigues and so many characters to choose from, his grounded sci-fi directing expertise may just create a hit. The griminess and scale of the ships and tracks, the technology level, the white-knuckle Phantom speed, Zone mode training simulations...

Twisted Metal is getting a show so why not Wipeout? I also think it would be cool for Wipeout fans to be involved, even if it's to just be an audience member or something..

I have always dreamed of a WO movie and still do regularly.

It would be so amazing. And not only that, but it would almost guarantee a new game.

If Asa is not in the movie as a cameo, I'm not watching it

Bad (or good?) news, Neil deleted his tweets I provided as a source, huh.

Bad news because deletion = no longer interested?
Good news because deletion = NDA stuff he accidentially broke?
    Your thoughts?

    No idea. But for posterity:

Actually, it would be worth asking anyone who attempted to get in touch with him if he responded, and if yes, what of it.

If not a movie, than maybe a live action tie-in ad campaign for a PS5/PSVR2 WipEout. He made 3 short films for the launch of Halo 3, later combined into one short called Halo Landfall, and it was fantastic. He knows how/when to use CG very well too. Could be great.
