Post Back-up of the original wipEout 3 website materials

So, I've been sitting on this dump I made back in 2007 of kleber.net/wipeout3 mirror of the full original wipEout 3 website (wipeout3.com, not wip3out.com).

Since w3o is 20 years old now and every browser vendor is trying to kill Flash® until the end of the decade, I figured it's about the last change for the masses to enjoy and appreciate this gem of a web design from the last millenium.

Above contains some fixes under the hood to make the experience more smooth for modern browsers.

    Ruffle version: https://omamoka.com/wwww3-ruffle.7z

Thanks for sharing! What a timeless website - I was really impressed how it still feels contemporary. Quite a testament to the designers at tDR.

    Oh, wow.

I remember the time this site went offline. Flash based websites were a lost case for services like Wayback Machine. Thanks so much for preserving this – I might install Flash immediately.

I noticed wipeoutpure.com and wipeoutpulse.com are (long?) gone, too. Their domains must have been for sale, even. I do have raw copies of them, although I don’t know if they’re complete or even work offline. If you want to have a go at those too, let me know.

If you encounter missing images or 502 Bad Gateway errors it's most likely just my host acting up recently. Refresh and try again.

    ...

At some point few years ago I attempted to make a conversion to HTML5 technologies and vectorize all graphics. But since Google killed their Swiffy service and similar solutions seemed to go nowhere, I sort of lost interest in it.

But hey! At least I can run the team banners on my phone now and forever!

They’re the animations in the wipEout 3 intro, I tried to make a screensaver with them many years ago, but the quality was too low. Now I can, thanks!

Thanks so much for sharing this! I tried to track these down ages ago but could never get them.

Added Ruffle support to the above upload. It's not perfect, but hopefully will improve in the future
