The Verge had an interesting article (http://www.theverge.com/2015/4/14/8413813/wipeout-in-your-browser) on it today about a tool that lets you explore the tracks and various models from the original wipE'out" in your browser
If nothing else it's amazing seeing it running with crisp edges on all the polygons and no pop-in.
Go take a look at Dominic Szablewski's wipE'out" viewer (http://phoboslab.org/wipeout/) and while you're at it, read up on his reverse engineering (http://phoboslab.org/log/2015/04/reverse-engineering-wipeout-psx) project for the game
