Another question for the WZ community. Why does the PS4 and PS Vita has a 2,000 friend list limit not the PS3?

The PS3 has a lot less RAM.
Bottom line, You couldn't have 200 friends active with the PS3's RAM.
It would just freeze the console

Just from having a bunch of friends online?
I knew the PS3 only having 256 megabytes was a bad thing.

The PSN can be thought of as similar to a torrent site, you can have many people connected to the same thing at the same time.
But instead of them all being connected to ONE thing [like having everybody on your friends list only playing HD online], like when downloading a torrent, they can, and usually are accessing different things via the same service.
It's keeping track of these different things, while still allowing communication between each other that is limited by the less powerful PS3.

I remember when the PS3's friends list was capped at 50, it made it hard to arrange tournaments when WO HD was in it's prime, and it necessitated having to delete people off your friends list, which didn't always go down well.
