WIPEOUT XL / 2097 help requested

Someone who has knowledge of how to take the wipeout XL ps1 game, dump the data, and change values within the game.

1) The game in 1 on 1 link mode slows the player down who is winning, this is awful, but the game runs smoothly

2) the game in arcade link allows a fair race, no slowdown at all for the winner, BUT there is Game slowdown ( framerate) that gets awful occasionally, and it runs slower

A). What is need is one of the following

1) turn off CPU assist in one on one link
2) swap one on one mode with arcade link ( this may not work)
3) turn off all CPU ships in arcade link ( this would seem the easiest)

This would be highly appreciated if someone could help with this matter

2). Also, there is a wipeout XL beta that can be downloaded. This may have what I need for this matter, and the game may play differently as well. I was wondering if someone could try downloading this and getting it to run on the computer or a modified ps1. I have been unable to get it to work on mine. The link is

Outch, that's a tough one!
My modified PS1 died during last convention... can't try it :(

I'll send you a link later to a ps1 disk that will play anything. I think put disk in, then your game in and it works. I have one for the ps2, it's really awesome, sine it's only 20 $. And a ps1 is 10( and you can use the disk on every system at a tournament). It's Alot cheaper than buying a modded system. If you are up for changing these values, and think you can do it, I'll send you the neccessary items to use. As you can see, I want XL to play awesome with NO slowdown.
