In order to get this thing restarted a bit me and Colonel__Gaddafi Have decided to revamp the thread a little with more well worked out rules and a new snazzy thread where you may only post your results, that is of course this new snazzy thread that you are reading right now, discussion regarding the trophies and methods etc. is to be kept in the old thread here (http://www.wipeoutzone.com/forum/showthread.php?8204-The-WZ-Trophies) to avoid confusion and to make it easier for me and the good colonel to keep track of who's done what and so on.

Here follow the rules for nabbing yourself a trophy:

In order to qualify for a trophy you will have to be able to prove that you have in fact
performed the task, so either video or (where applicable) photo evidence must be
submitted.

Trophies are meant to be fun things to do, not laborious. Whilst there should be a
challenging element to each trophy, trying to attain it should not feel like banging your head
against a brick wall. Also bare in mind that most trophies require video evidence, this
means incidents that are pure fluke should be avoided as potential trophies.

All trophy suggestions have to be approved by Oryx_Crake and Colonel__Gaddafi, who will
update the official list. This is a community thing, but just because somebody suggests a
trophy it doesn’t mean it’s a good idea. “Lap time of 18 seconds on Amphiseum
blindfolded?”.

The trophy list is currently closed until somebody has completed at least 50% of the
current trophies.

Going forward, players may only submit a trophy suggestion if they have completed at least
5 trophies submitted by other people. This means if you want people to try your challenge,
you have to extend them the same courtesy.

If you have questions about the rules or about other things regarding the wipeoutzone trophies, have a look at the old thread (http://www.wipeoutzone.com/forum/showthread.php?8204-The-WZ-Trophies) or if that fails ask Me or the Colonel, But we ask you to please refer to the old thread before you send us a message.

If this works out well we may expand to some of the other games in the series, who knows maybe we can breathe some new life into some of the older games!

I have an idea for a new trophy:

Successful-Elite-Airbraking-Low-Rolling-Phantom-Pacifist-Sponge: Finish 1st in a Phantom Elite race using the Fury Icaras on Anulpha Pass Forward only using airbrakes (no d-pad or analog sticks) without using any weapons (you can only use shields and turbos, but no autopilot).

I don't have a setup to record this yet, but I tested to see if it is possible ^_^

Oh, forgot to ask, what kind of video capture rig do you have set up? I was thinking about trying to get something working. I have a laptop with only an HD input and 2 USB in/outs, 3 HD cables, and an older desktop. I do have Adobe Premiere. Thoughts? I'd like to try some of these but I can't until I'm set up.

that blue light emitting thing you see in the beginning is my Matrox MXO2 Mini which i use to record my PS3 (great little device ^^), although that's a bit expensive for what you will probably use it for (PS3 only i'm guessing). Many go with an Hauppage HD-PVR, which is indeed easy to setup up, but i'm not too fond of the quality of what it records, for youtube, it doesn't really matter, but i do a lot more than just recording my PS3 so i went for something more professional. My matrox also acts as a video source on my comp, so i could skype webcam whatever's hooked up to it, stream, record, realtime video edit, …

But that's way more than you need, if you're looking to get something, search around for Blackmagic's intensity devices or simply go with an hauppage ;)

I never played WipEout HD on the PS3 but I know that this HUD isn´t default, so how do you changed it?

you unlock 2 extra huds when increasing loyalty of a ship
10000 loyalty is the wipeout 2097 one if i remember corrctly
not sure on the wip3out one, think that's 60000loyalty

you can then chose the hud type in the options ;)

Mike, yes Ragsus is the only person to have got Surviving The Grid.

Updated the list to include recent additions. As far as adding YT links to the first page, I'll do it if and when I can be arsed. It's something I've always intended to do, but also a massive ball ache of a job.

Something else I'd like to add to the first page is a table of how many trophies each pilot has, I'll sort that out by the end of the week.

Hi guys! it's been a while since i posted here. Cipher challenged me make the Drunken Master trophy. but here is my idea... as many of you know, if a guy is in good (wipeout) shape, that trophy can be done at the 2nd or 3rd lap. so, there's nothing of "Drunken Master" on it. So... my idea is a new trophy. "Legend of Drunken Master". This consists in getting the "Drunken Master" trophy but, 15 - 20 min before, drink at least half bottle of whisky. Yes, Whisky. not vodka not rum, not beer etc... whisky. pure. straight. no ice, no coca cola. Hardcore stuff lol. I'm planning this for maybe next week, if this is accepted ;) I'll record all the process without pause. And i'll upload it even if I fail ;) it would be a nice come back to my videos lol

A few years back, I gave the "old" trophy an attempt:

Drunken Master
Beat Zico while you drink 1 tequila shot during the lap (1 tequila/whiskey/vodka/hard liqour shot per lap of trying)

I failed at drinking while flying the overpass. And after 6 laps I had to give up, Couldn't handle 6 shots in 3 minutes :dizzy

btw: I think you've already earned it in your LSDico video ;)

Yeah, I have the older Elgato, that can only do 1080p30. Since I export in 720p25, I have no reason to upgrade, it does what I want it to nicely.

If I were you, I would at least invest in a 60 FPS capture card, and then downsample it down to 30 to create even a little bit of Motion Blur, if you can't upload in native 60 FPS.

I need to keep my filesizes down because uploading stuff to youtube here is a long and arduous task. I can understand you not understanding that because US internet is as fast as Zone 200, but I only get about 1Mbps upload speeds. Even when tweaking the bitrate all the way down and everything, it still takes at least 2 hours to upload 10 minutes of video. This is also why I don't upload at full 1080p.

Also, I don't need a 60fps capture card or motion blur when the games I record play at 30fps.

But WipEout HD was designed entirely around 60, and 25 is still lower than 30.
But if your Internet speeds are really that bad, then stick with 720p 25, nobody's stopping you.

I play more games than just Wipeout HD. For instance, the classic wipeout games, they were 30fps.

In regards to your trophy question, yes, they are doable in the Vita version, I've gotten quite a few of them in that version.

Yeah, picture/video quality on the Elgato HD60 was better over the Elgato HD that used the component cables which ended up making messing with the contrasts and brightness of the videos.

A lot of the cheaper & older capture cards just have dynamic range limitations as they can't handle the video throughput and need to skip certain colour ranges to keep up ;)
