Saturday get-togethers and tourneys (Aussie based, everyone welcome)

I couldn't find something similar on the forums so I went ahead and decided to do one myself.
Basically, I'm just listing a date and a time we can put together an organised online game of Wipeout HD Fury. Sound fun? :)
I was thinking that we have something happen, say a small tournament or something, every Sat. It doesn't matter what country you come from, anyone can join, but the AUS is there in the topic title because it's hosted in Australia. The times listed are also aussie ones (GMT +9:30). So any aussie players, come out and say hi :)

Had moderate success tonight; We had a full 8 players at the start of the tournament, but Sony were useless as usual (http://www.wipeoutzone.com/forum/showthread.php?8642-New-Wipeout-HD-patch&p=216956#post216956) and after connection drops, race freezes, lobby freezes, scoreboard inconsistencies and other generally stupid bugs we were down two only two players, neither of whom were me. ._.
At any rate, it was good to catch up with Liod19 and Rennfisch whom I hadn't seen in a while. Had fun racing, thanks guys :)

We'll be doing this again this saturday, starting at 7:00 this time. We'll put on a rapier tournament if we get a good number of people, and flash/rapier friendly events for the rest of it. :)

Maybe you can create a new event here (http://www.timeanddate.com/) so everybody can check the time for thei individual time zone.

I hadn't really thought about using a chatroom; I'm not sure what Avalon Lounge and Ozone Room are, could you enlighten me? :o
Dunno how such a thing would work in the PS3 itself but I should be able to get an IRC channel up. Edit: IRC channel is now up at #WipeoutAusWeekly on naos.foonetic.com (irc.foonetic.com if that doesn't work)

They're both text-chat rooms that are used pretty regularly by members here. It makes it a lot easier (and more rewarding IMO) to have a chat room open for this sort of thing. It might be worth starting one for these events, then you can invite your friends when they join the lobby.

Was me :) Had some bugs and microfreezed on my PS3 at the beginning so I had no chance to keep up. I tried to play some eliminator instead haha.
Problems kinda solved after PS3 restart but then my playlist was gone xD Strange sometimes...

Anyway, the weapons off races at the end with dread & Liod were lots of fun! And good practice for phantom ;)

Sorry guys, I've been having internet troubles for the last hour and it's virtually impossible to host a coherent game, let alone a tourney. It took 15 minutes to even write this message. And I was looking forward to this, too! :(
Hopefully someone else will be able to take over, like keg_11 or doco4r.
Also, the ozone room is a chat room on the PSN network. I'm not sure how to get into it manually (i was invited by someone else).

Try using the PSN chatbox name "Avalon Lounge" to communicate with each other.
Since "Players Met" via the PSN " People Met" doesn't work

If you race against somebody now that you recognize from this forum, they now should register under your "Players Met" list, as this function is now working again .

A total PITA trying to sort a BB without this, as you always seem to get some somebody filling a grid spot that just doesn't get the fact that they need to be, or have forgotten to be, wearing chrome.

As for the BB thing you can also create a lobby which is not public but invitations only. This way you can invite your friends [wether from the forum or not] & won't have some random guy without chrome skin.
