Hello, everyone.
Hope it's okay to create new thread here.
Anyway. My question I want to direct toward those with Vita and WipEout Pure.
I know it's possible to run Pure on Vita, but the thing that interests me is addons.
Can someone check if Pure game packages (which are awesome) work on Vita? I would be very grateful for your help.
I'm planning on buying Vita, but the only reason for that is new WipEout.
Still it's not enough, I guess. But having ALL WipEouts on one console is a good selling point for me, lol. :)
Thanks in andvance for any response.

I'm curious to know this myself. I have Pure from PSN (bringing my total copies of Pure to four) but I'm not sure how you'd actually add any PSP data to the Vita. Anyone know?

It would be awesome if you try. Here's a FAQ how to transfer saves from PSP to VITA (don't forget that Pure add ons are like additional saves, that you put in the same folder where all PSP saves are):

1. Start a psp game on your vita and create a save file (doesn't matter what you just need a save)

2. Connect it to PC and open content manager

3. Transfer the save to the PC

4. Find out where that save was transferred to (you can also open content manager options on yor PC by clicking it in the taskbar down at the bottom right and it will have a folder listed). The folder is usually:

C:/> users > username > documents > PSVITA > PSAVEDATA > (a folder that just has numbers and letters) > in here is where you should find the psp saves

5. Plug your PSP into your PC and find your save files ( folder is in PSP > SAVEDATA)

6. Transfer the saves you want (or all of them) to the folder on PC that we found where the vita backs the psp saves to (the letter/number folder in PSAVEDATA)

7. Open content manager on vita and choose PC -> PSVITA

8. Choose applications > psp saves and check mark all the ones you want on your vita

Please, let me know if you succeed... or not. =)

Fantastic, thanks for that! It will be the morning before I get a chance to give it a go. I'll report back as soon as I do.

Good luck with that!
The fate of some random not-yet-bought Vita is in your hands now. :D

Well the system works - I successfully copied my save game and the packs from my PSP to my Vita and the Vita reads the saves. Now, for some reason, the Gamma and Omega packs don't seem to be working and I can't yet figure out why. I'll have a play with it to see what I can find out but the system does work. Something has just gone a bit funny with some of my files maybe?

Edit: Hmmm... trying to source a fresh Pure pack these days isn't easy but I found one, tested it and for some reason it shows up as a corrupt file (my own ones didn't, they looked fine) and yet the fresh pack file worked. Not sure what the difference is - the Gamma and Omega packs that I downloaded from the Pure servers back in the day don't seem to work. The others do.

But end result of this is that, yes, this method works.

Great news, so now all add ons are working? Can you PM me a link you found where working add ons are uploaded?
Thanks in advance.

Edit: I sent you a message, but it seems it hasn't been sent (my sent messages folder is empty somehow). Just wanted to thank you for sending me the link. =)

Hia,

it might just be that the packs don't correspond to the version, ie US or EU.. You should be able to distinguish looking at the filenames. Anyway, take a look at this thread (http://www.wipeoutzone.com/forum/showthread.php?7242-Pure-Track-Packs), it has all the packs listed for download.

It wont let me copy it to my vita, and i have really been wanting to play pure lately. and my PSP is KIA lol

Dogg Thang
2nd March 2012, 07:36 AM
Well if you bought it from PSN, it should be on your download list. BUT... here's something I noticed -> those free PSP Go games can't be downloaded to any other system so, if you got it free on a PSP Go, you'd have to buy it (it's really cheap I think). If you're talking UMD, they can't be transferred and it doesn't look like they'll be doing any scheme to allow that to happen.

Hmm... odd. Have you got a PS3? Those that can't be downloaded straight to the Vita can be transferred through a PS3. I don't know why some can be downloaded to the Vita and some can't. For example, three of the four Pulse packs can be downloaded straight to the Vita. The fourth can't, and yet it transfers from the PS3 with no problem. I assume they'll sort them all at some point but, for now, it looks like you might need a PS3 to transfer it.

NCR_Assassin

it wont let me transfer from my ps3 either im going to try to use media go now, it could be that im on the north american store lol

Dogg Thang
2nd March 2012, 09:22 AM
Very odd that it won't let you do it through the PS3. I haven't heard of any game that won't transfer that way. Yes, must be something to do with the US store (I'm on the EU store and it works fine here).

NCR_Assassin
2nd March 2012, 09:29 AM
i also tried media go but that didnt work either -_-

Dogg Thang
2nd March 2012, 09:33 AM
So what happens when you download it to your PS3? It is in your games menu as a file or whatever, right? So if you connect your Vita and go through the content manager and select PS3>Vita, does it not show up at all or is it listed but just refuses to transfer?

NCR_Assassin
2nd March 2012, 09:37 AM
i see the wipeout pulse i downloaded from the ps3 store and ace combat and endwar but wipeout pure just dosent show up :/

Dogg Thang
2nd March 2012, 09:42 AM
Ah, so it's not even in your PS3 download list? Have you got two accounts and that's why it might not be showing up?

NCR_Assassin
3rd March 2012, 12:01 AM
me and my room mate share a ps3 but all of our other games show up on our vitas

Dogg Thang
3rd March 2012, 12:01 PM
Well Pure is showing up on your Vita, it's just not letting you download it. The mystery now is why it wouldn't work from your PS3. Does it show up in your PS3 download list? Is the account you're using on the PS3 the exact same account as the Vita one?

Binary-Ghost
3rd March 2012, 04:42 PM
Well NCR assassin and I just can't get it copied over. It doesnt shw up on the vitas content manager at all. we both own it.

edit: and yes all accounts are the same.

Dogg Thang
3rd March 2012, 06:15 PM
No idea why that would be at all. If you've downloaded it to your PS3 and it's sitting there but isn't showing up when you use the Vita content manager I can't imagine what's causing the problem. Weird. Sorry guys, I'm out of ideas.

I'm just going to get another memory card and buy wipeout pure and pulse on a European account, since they have more dlc anyways lol

4th March 2012, 07:48 AM
I bought all the Wipeout Pulse download packs when they first came out and downloaded them to my PS3 for transfer to my PSP.

I bought Wipeout Pulse again yesterday (since my old one is UMD). I transferred it to my Vita and when I came to then transfer the track packs none were recognised by the Content Manager. I tried to download them from the store directly on my Vita but it would only let me download 3 of the 4. What I ended up doing was deleting them from the PS3, redownloading them from the store and all of a sudden Content Manager found them and I could transfer them to my Vita.

Success! Now to get Pulse on my Vita.

WipEout PurE Downloadable Packs for all regions (http://www.mediafire.com/?r0cty7z2p65m1)

I will be cross-posting this in many places again because it appears the search engines still aren't picking it up properly.
Please tell me if there are any incompatibilities with PSVita. Send a PM.

I should have posted here first rather on that 'pure track packs' : Stin and I got the exostra run bug (freeze vita and got a C1 error). If anyone can give us the right order of released i think that can solve our problem. Or is it something different ?

JABBERJAW
1st April 2012, 07:20 PM
Can someone with the US version of pure on the vita explain exactly how to do this? There doesn't seem to be any way to do it. Can you give exact details of how the screen looks on the ps3 and vita?

Asayyeah
2nd April 2012, 12:44 AM
Your question Al is about how to install the dl packs of pure on your vita specifically for us version or is it something different?

I get rid off the exostra bug after a while by transfering one at a time and in the correct order of release, each pack.
Here's the resume :

1 - Gamma / 14 mb
2 - Delta / 13 mb
3 - Classique 2 part 1 / 6018 kb
4 - Classique 2 part 2 / 8792 kb
5 - Omega / 16 mb

I put size from each folder to let you know how they re displayed on the vita's screen right after selecting transfer from pc to vita. (note those figures are slightly different if you select transfer vita to pc or when you want to delete existing packs ==> not very essential info but anyway it said now :P )

After installing those dl packs one at a time, I tried to copy a batch of music packs ==> got the same bug with exostra freezin' : solution ( at least working for me and stevie) is transfering again those different music packs one at a time.

We should have raced madice but we ran out of time and missed the rendez-vous : new one is tomorrow around 6pm/7pm CET
To tell you the truth i am stunned by pure displayed on the vita like Stevie said in a previous post somewhere it's like Pure in HD :O
It also feels sooo smooth to navigate through each track, better than CFW 333, so to say.

Now i am fully pleased with my vita showing off a 'brand new' game
after talking a long time with Stevie, we agreed on a point : this game has a perfect balance; not so many BR, just enough to let the game entertaining, you can understand how the ships are 'moving' and that seems to me more credible reaction than HD or 2048. Ok that game is slow compared to A+ 2048 but much more rewarding when you can get the flow of each track with your ship without hitting any walls and not that pinball wall effect who doesn't affect much your racing line or speed (HD anyone? :g). Not even talking about so different tracks environment compared to the boring city of new new york from 2048 (except sol n altima).
oh! yes I forgot : it's a friendship game : you can join your friends online via adhoc party, please remind me how 2048 is working online? ah! yes! you got a list of 100 friends and you cannie even join them properly......

Last bit of 'kinda' rant : Before 2048's release I was freakin excited, tested it at PGW last year, invited by Leungbok playing jap version for a weekend before feb 22nd, still very impressed by it, then from its euro release till Madice and Iwannatinckle came to my house I played it to death for 10 days, after they left I just quit playing it.
Trust me it never happened I stop playing a new wipeout game just after 10 days from its release. It's plain crazy, I don't recognize me anymore or shall I say I am not recognizing the roots of what being wipeout through 2048.
Sad but true :|

Is it possible to install Pure through a PC or does it have to be done through a PS3?

JABBERJAW

How in the heck do I get pure onto the vita from the ps3!? It gives me no copy game option, just applications, music, video, and photo. I have the same account activated, and that was the account pure was purchased on?

Does it have to be in the psp games on vita or something like that? On ps vita games by genre it does not list so pure, but does list some other psp games.

Can someone from Europe verify that in " ps vita games by genre". That wipeout pure exists?

I believe you're supposed to use the Vita's content manager to copy it over.

JABBERJAW

It does not work. It doesn't show anything besides what I listed above, no games show up in content manager, just those 4 options

Darkdrium777

IIRC from another forum, the game has to be "uninstalled." AKA it has to be in the "bubble" icon on the PS3 for the Vita CMA to pick it up.
I'm definitely not 100% sure on this though.

Also, they would be under "Applications" in the CMA.

JABBERJAW
3rd April 2012, 04:26 AM
I don't see a bubble icon, it downloads on its own too quickly?

Never mind, I downloaded a different psp game and it worked just fine, it's just grand that pure is available in Europe but not the US. Stupid

OMG, I just purchased and downloaded Pure from the US PSN for the specific purpose of putting it on my Vita. I really wish I had read this thread before wasting the money. I no longer have my PSP as the Vita was supposed to replace it. I wonder how long it'll be before I can actually put this game to use. I agree with Jabberjaw: Frickin Stupid.

That sounds weird but I am not surprised from Sony America, that reminds me US Pulse who couldn't have access to DLC.

9th May 2012, 06:15 AM
I feel for you guys hope they really sort it out soon. Not to rub it in but I do find myself play it quite a bit these days, sure it isn't as advanced visually but, as well as the varied environments that I miss, it's just simply a funner racing mechanic...bouncing around the track as opposed to the 'cross-hair focus' in 2048.

Has a very infrequent hangup* I've noticed while racing on some tracks, just hangs on a corner. Would appreciate a fix, not expecting it and not a huge deal. Really wish 2097 and 3 would be put on the store in time for PSone compatibility on the vita. That would be pretty wicked but it has been so long.. if it's about red bull..what a shame. Lots of puma in pure.

*edit: hangups usually occur just when I land after triggering a barrel roll - usually in a weird position or slightly off track like on the rails.

Does anyone know if you can play cross platform between Wipeout Pure on a PSP and Wipeout Pure on a Vita?

I managed it with Pulse via ad-hoc, but I can't see any option in Pure's menus to play this way...

Tis a shame about the US, I hope you people get it soon. Also, I seem to have 1 more addon pack that I didn't have in the PSP days, namely "Exclusive Pack"? Seems to just comprise of 1 track called "Sci-Fi" and it's one of the tracks from the "Delta" pack, "Khara Descent" to be clear. Otherwise I'm enjoying this more than 2048.

Ok, I bought Pure (and Pulse) on the Vita the last week end.
I had to search a bit about the method to transfer packs and saved data, but it's ok.
As for Pulse, it's not very beautiful, the emulator tends to pixelate a lot the visuals, espescially the ships. It's more pixelate on Pure than on Pulse IMO.

But as for Pulse, it's so smooth! That's totally awesome!

Nice!

And and and ... you can select track, class and ship, what a great feature!

I feel the duty to thank you so much for those Pure Packs!

I've just bought both PSP Wipeout games and the first thing I tried was to put on the packs I had in my old psp, but I wasn't able for some reason I don't know.

I have just downloaded the euro packs you uploaded, follow the instructions of the txt file and... It works!

Thank you very much!!!

Now it's time to revisit these magic titles I finished some years ago.

For some reason I liked more Pure than Pulse, but in the Ps Vita Pulse looks simply gorgeous, so let's see how they play.

So many hours of pure-pulse joy!!!

Just a heads up before anybody in US buys Pure. It looks like Sony has "corrected" their mistake and this is no longer downloadable to Vita. I'm lucky I got in during the small window.
