Oh here's a question. With the new forum layout/design, it has an insert video feature. Would this go along the lines of the 50k image rule, or should we not use it at all?

I wouldn't use embeds for this particular thread. The original intent for the 50k image rule is to facilitate accessibility for mobile devices. Five Youtube embeds in a row for each post is very difficult to load for mobile devices and won't even work on certain models that don't have integrated flash support.
However a Youtube hyperlink will load up the dedicated Youtube app and it won't be a problem (As long as the video is available for mobile, but then that's another issue.)

I'll leave the ratings to someone else.
