We all know that cars and trucks and planes are gone from the WO universe, but would that mean that rail would rise to fill the gap alongside AG, or would it die too? What do you think? Yes, I know about the Manka Monrail, but this is steel-wheel-on-steel-rail stuff.

Personally, it would rise to fill to fill the gap for trucking because 1. Certain stuff does not fly well, and 2. Rail is very efficient for hauling big, heavy stuff such as AG track pieces.

Planes and trains are still present in WO3, and as far as I know there seem to be car-like vehicles in WOPure.

Well, the car things are most likely AG-craft.

And the planes are also AG most likely.

And the trains, I'm not sure about them. They might not be trains at all, just flexible AG ships.

There's a mono-rail in Wipeout Pure/HD, in the middle of the "hook" corner at Chenghou project.

That's the Mon rail I mentioned in the first post.

Maybe.

At least in WipEout 3: No.

And the trains, I'm not sure about them. They might not be trains at all, just flexible AG ships.
Again: At least in WipEout 3: No.

Play the game and you will see.

Thank you for disproving me. And no, that's not sarcasm.

And no, I'm not looking for appearances of rail, but the economic impacts of it, especially in the USA.

No matter how awesome Anti-Gravity is, that doesn't mean that Non-AG vehicles will ever be gone for good. Just watch what happens when the era of 'International Peace' ends and most of civilization destroys itself, only for a new civilization to rise and start from scratch.

Plus, Anti-Gravity will always have its own problems and it probably won't be until after the F9000 league that everyone has an AG-vehicle.

Finally: Some say that oil will never be used again once Anti-Gravity is invented, and they are right that it will require energy than oil-based fuel can provide on its own, but you also have to think about Propulsion. What is suppossed to fuel the turbines (and why is Harimau producing Bio-Fuels)? And even if they eventually start running on Fuel-Cells or whatever, you still need oil to lubricate them.
