Isn't multiplayer being flaunted on this release? Stupid to put it on the connection method that will not even work consistently and a provider that not everyone likes and that will charge you monthly for using a SIM card in it, isn't it? :|

Multiplayer gaming will still be wifi. 3G won't be for gaming (at least not for games like Wipeout), and is pretty much useless, unless you're into all that social networking stuff (such as stalking/mugging nearby random people who have Vitas, or having that done to you :lol). ;)

I don't know, I play Wipeout HD at home with 3G out in the boonies. Also, I'm in the U.S. and I hear our service is much shittier (and much more expensive).
It certainly doesn't compare to a DSL connection, but it's certainly playable.

Maybe a rumor, or not : The PS Vita 3G with WipEout 2048 will be sold 50€, with 2 years contracts for 3G, 20 or 30€ per month.

I think it's a nice idea from Sony and Vodafone, it can attract people who don't want to purchase the PS Vita cash.
However I think I'll buy the Wifi model, and I'll use my mobile phone like a hotspot wifi or modem if I need to go on internet with my system. It's cheaper.

I don't know if this is 100% accurate or if it matters for anyone, but I've heard some of the Near functions - which could include 2048's challenge issuing to people you meet - actually require the 3G model. It's plausible, so I'd look into that if it sounds like a feature you're interested in.

Not exactly sure what the situation is here is Aus it will be the same for NZ.
I went to the major store that most people buy from here and VITA with bundle is AUS$348 -No WO 2048 included though.

I haven't seen any "Options" advertised for one VITA bundle over another as yet.

8GB memory card included.
PSVita 3G (285-300€) + 8Gb memory card (35€) + WipEout 2048 PSN (30€) = 49€99 day-one, then 527€50 after 2 years of subscription.

I don't mind paying more to get Vodafone's hands off my bank account for good.
If buying a copy of Wipeout 2048 is the price for freedom, I will pay it willingly.
