Welcome to the WZ weekly Time Trial Series for HD-Fury

Every week starting from 11/07/2011 there will be a new TT event to complete with points being awarded for the top 3 pilots.

Points Scoring:
1st - 14 Pts
2nd - 10 Pts
3rd - 8 Pts

Also, for competing in an Event you earn 1 point if you don't finish in the top 3.

The rules and regulations will be set out in the OP for each new week's event, therefore it is easy to find each new event that comes around. For Series 1 there will be a total of 16 events over 16 weeks.

Important! When submitting your time for an event you must PM it to me, you may post the times here as well but you will not be included in the results unless you have PM'd your results to me. The thread here can be used for posting rough times and discussion about the events too.

WHEN THE RESULTS ARE POSTED, IF 3 USERS CONTEST A WINNING TIME, PHOTOGRAPHIC EVIDENCE WILL BE ASKED FOR, SO PLEASE TAKE PHOTOS OF YOUR BEST TIME, JUST IN CASE. OTHERWISE YOU WILL LOSE ALL YOUR POINTS

I'll be honest, I can't be arsed with the shortcut BR under the tunnel that the pros do. Admittedly I'd never tried it until the other day, but I've only pulled it off once and it's sapping my will to live.

Think I'll have to switch back using the boost at the end. My times are awful though, can't get anywhere near 2:00 in either ship. Any help?

You DON'T have to post your times here, in fact in the OP it doesn't state at any point it's recommended, it says rough times can be posted. It goes without saying that PM'ing it to me is the best possible way to send times. Please read over the rules mate, I can only do so much to try and keep things legit for the competitive minded such as yourself. :p

I don't think Leung was making any accusations, probably just a little disappointed by people choosing to keep their times secret. I know it's all part of the challenge and it is an interesting twist, but for me this competition was about being able to interact in the community again and if no-one is going to be posting in this thread that might make things difficult lol ;)

Anyhoo we all know the rules, but I will still post my times here every week regardless. I'm not going to be setting the leaderboards on fire with my 'no shortcut' policy so it matters not :)

From the begining that sort of challenge were made for people to compete, share and also to try to improve their skills & times, learn new techniques... thanks to emulation.
what i'm disappointed with, is that i could easily beat both times (i'm sure Tug too and probably others), but without seing any motivating time reference, i didn't tried seriously. I prefer to see the best times posted and being free to beat them or fail fairly, depending of motivation or capacity, but without the feeling of being a little bit abused (i don't mean i was sure to win this week challenge, but i was sure to improve at least)!

Have to say, after this challenge I'll never use an EG-X again. Absolutely awful ship. And the shortcut at the beginning of the lap was a non-starter, nearly threw my controller at the TV. Managed not to but I did punch myself very hard in the leg, hard enough to make me limp for a bit afterwards.

Gave this an hour or so today...managed to get one proper 3 BR lap, and thought "Wow, EGX actually feels pretty fast!" Then, raced and raced and raced, never to actually manage piloting the thing with any consistency.

Also, this the first time this has ever happened to me, but several times (while in Flash) when the ship hit the ramp/side of track it didn't go in the air. It actually flew along as if the bump wasn't there. There was no sound of the hit either. I'm using internal view so I have NO idea what went on there. Same line, same spot, no jump. :? 'Twas very, very strange.
AARGH! I don't know if I'll manage one decent time in this whole thread! :lol

Oh man I've had such bad luck with this weeks TT event :(

I was ill earlier in the week so couldn't really focus enough to attempt anything, by the weekend I was feeling better so thought I'd have a crack on Sunday evening, except I went to an airshow on Sunday and managed to burn my hands just sitting in the sun (don't ask how, I really don't know :rolleyes: )

So no TT for me this week, which is a shame because rapier is my favourite speed. My hands are slightly less 'lobster like' now so I'm back on for this coming week ;)

This one is pure awesomeness, UB3R. :twisted :+ :+ I hereby vow to give all my free time this week to this challenge (barring Avalon of course).

P.S. Just FYI, I have trouble reading the individual lap times on the TT race results screen as my TV is tiny and fuzzy. (Well, the picture is fuzzy, not the TV...) So I don't know how accurate my individual lap times will be. The total race time I can see okay in the ranked screen, but the lap times are as follows: "Is that a 0? Or is it a 6...maybe 8? I better add it up as if it was a 6 and see if that's right...nope, must be an 8..."
So as you can imagine, taking photos is...fairly close to useless. HD is the furthest thing from HD in my place.

I think letting people choose their ship would have been better, as some people may never even come back to revisit their times, and they would want to be in the ship they're most comfortable in. I know I'm speaking for myself, but I think others may feel the same way.

It is a lot of effort yes, but I think it's a great challenge :) And I've noticed that the deadline for this week is until 14th Sep, I think that's pretty fair and giving everybody enough time to get a good hour on each track in at least. I've done the first four this morning, and using Feisar has been a challenge, but that's exactly what this thread is all about :)

I usually fly exclusively Icaras on rapier so it's a nice change to learn a new ship and equal if not best my Ica records with this floaty nightmare ;) It's going surprisingly well so far!

Likewise, and it's not as if it's with a Tractoris or something. I quite like the serenity of the Feisar :)
