As you all know, CoLD SToRAGE (Tim Wright) is the responsible for tons of WipEout songs. A few minutes ago, I talked to him on facebook asking this:
"Mauro Araújo -> Tim Wright
Hey Mr Tim! :) Hope everything is fine with you. But I was wondering... Don't you think it's time to revisit Messij...? :P big respect from a portuguese fan!"
A few minutes after this, I got his answer:
"Tim Wright -
I do have a plan to revisit all the classic Wipeout tracks before I fall off the edge of the World... hopefully sooner rather than later, LOL! ( The revisit - not the falling! )."
While reading this, I felt like I should share this with you all :)
I think these are great news ;)
Keep Flying!

Yes, I believe he has this posted either on his page or in an old FB message but right now he's working on the Psygnosis Tribute/Remaster.
From an old Facebook message
Psygnosis 25th Anniversary Album - VOTING BEGINS! Ends 31st May 2010
Hi There!
Well, it's taken a while to sample all these tracks, convert to MP3, upload, tag... hang on, you don't want to hear about all that. ;O)
If you go here http://www.icecubes.org.uk/vote/
you can vote on the tracks you want to appear on the new album!
I'll pre-empt the question (even though I've answered it on the web-page).
Q: "Where is Wipeout, Colony Wars, Krazy Ivan etc. etc. !!!"
A: I've limited the tracks to just my MOD files. MOD files??? Some of you will know that MOD files are created on AMIGA, ATARI ST, PC and other platforms. They are sample data and note data, and the computer plays the music 'live' using that information, rather than just playing back a WAV or MP3 file. Usually these MOD files took up a tiny amount of memory... roughly 0.001 % of the space of a typical MP3 (if my maths is correct on 4 Megabytes versus 64 Kbytes! )
I've chosen NOT to include any CD Audio tracks because firstly, I'll be attacking them at a later date (so don't worry on that score!) and secondly, I wanted a bigger challenge... to take what is essentially old skool computer music, and turn it into really full fat listenable and enjoyable music that will be a massive step forward compared to the originals.
I think it's fitting that we celebrate an old in the tooth company with remixes of old in the tooth music... some of which might have been written before one or two of you were born(!)
So there you have it! :OD
Happy voting, and if anyone spots any cock-ups or wonders, "where's the music to 'GAME XYZ' - that was MOD files and you wrote it!" then let me know too.
Take it easy!
Tim.

I've known about this for a while, I'll give Mr. Wright all the time he needs to remix Cold Comfort into something even more awe-inspiring. :g

Does this mean he's going to update the original soundtrack and/or add new songs?

I don't he will be given a chance to be on the soundtrack for WipEout 2048 in any way, shape or form, he's approached Studio Liverpool numerous times in the past few months and Studio Liverpool are just ignoring him.
