I don't know who, or how many people here are familiar with what has become to be known as Steampunk.

I mean LANCE was well versed in this art movement as far back as 2005 .

It seems to have gone in a multitude of directions since then.

It was initially people sick to death of bland cookie cutter products, [No Personality]
So DIY mods started to appear.

I just thought I'd give a few links to what has become quite a vibrant and diversified voice, art wise.
It was initially metal work, but has diversified into fabrics, poetry, writing, fashion etc.
Reason being that I intend to join them whole heartily.

It seems to me like a new rococo more than anything else.
A revolt against the bland a featureless products that we use day to day.
Also a general disenchantment with how people address , meet and conduct themselves now days.
The Victorian era civilities being the preferred mode of communication.

The Kuksi sculptures are quite beautiful. I can't claim I quite understand the whole steampunk outlook to society, but the machines (and not least machine fantasies) do appeal a lot to my engineering background :)

(but the 'Rules for being a 'proper' Steampunk' thread on that board is hillarious!)
