Hallo,
I am a WipeoutFusion-Newcomer and played the Zone-Mode for a long time but I can only reach level31 on the first track. These are about 250.000.000 Points, and I thought that I wouldn't be so bad with this result, but then I saw that men had about 4.500.000.000 points- How can they reach this???? Am I really such a bad driver??
Please help me!!

Phew, it's been a long time since I last gave advice on Zone, so here goes...

First of all, I'll start by saying that the 4 billions you see on the leagues were achieved by many days of practice on the same course. In my case, I used Oggob's score as an incentive to improve. If your score isn't increasing, you should start by analyzing your technique, especially when cornering. The airbrakes are your absolute saviour when the zones start getting high. Even near the start of the run you should get used to turning with the airbrakes, it'll give you more confidence later on. When the speed gets high enough, you should move about on straights using just the airbrakes, turning normally will destabilise the craft. You'll also need to make slight alterations to your racing line as the speed increases as well. A good exercise to improve your confidence is to see how far you can go before losing your first shield point. Even increasing your distance on this initial secion of the run will help you later on.

If you're looking for a high score, you need to hit as many speed pads as possible while running perfect laps for as long as possible. Basically, get your score multiplier to x99 as quickly as you can, so you can pick up maximum points while the craft is still relatively slow. After that, perfect laps will still be your best way of increasing your score, but you should still hit the speed pads wherever possible. The score increase is small but significant at the end of the run. They will also boost you further along the track before the speed increases.

You also need to be very strict with your shield points. Every last one counts, so it might be worth starting again if you lose a couple in an easy situation.

As a last word, there are basically two different ways to improve your score. You can either keep trying the run over and over the way I did, changing your technique as you go, or you can use a run purely as practice before trying it for real. Both are equally effective, it's just a matter of which one suits you.

That's about all I can say. Good luck!
