A fair win for DP here... in his choices it wasnt even close, on sebenco I completely lost the plot because of nerves and finally managed to drag my carcass across the line, spitting and screaming an embarrassing 12-14 seconds behind. It got closer after that and I managed to pull off a win on TDR, sadly (and I know this will sound like an excuse but it isnt) I got a bit lagrammed on sol2 and the winner was decided. I got another win and then we did the default race just for fun in which I actually kept the lead til the last corner where dp got off a missile that allowed him to pass me on the final straight for the 5-2 win. Oh the scream of disbelief I let out after that hahaha it was truly epic!
Honestly though I am very proud to almost have pushed dp to a 4-3 win.

Okay so I've managed to get the videos uploaded. Two problems, firstly the camera paused itself after 30mins so unfortunately I don't have the last race - Metropia. Secondly Youtube's being a massive tw@ and has downscaled the eliminator to 240 resolution. I'll sort it out tomorrow.

Easily some of the best races I've had yet in my WipEout career - the Talon's Junction race was a real nail-biter and quite brutal until you got me with a plasma-bomb double shot. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise DreamyElf - you are a top class pilot and a pleasure to race with.

Although I hate to bring bad news R3BUSER, but with only a 4/7 win rather than your previous 6/7, you've dropped in the rankings a little bit from equal second with leungbok down to sixth, just behind Javariko and ahead of SaturnReturn and yeldar. Four dutchmen in a row.

Also, UB3R, your better score than some of your previous runs elevates you to 25th, just behind Colonel__Gadaffi and myself.

A truly great set of races, so close throughout. I don't think there was more than 2 seconds between us in any of the races, and the fact that we both finished the Eliminator over the 200 target says it all really. It was a bit naughty of me to choose a ZB, I know you're not really into it, sorry about that :redface: - Next time just Races and Elims.

Updates on the leaderboard:

No changes on team position, though AG-Systems gets the biggest move towards Goteki 45. An AG-S/G45 match should sort that out. As would a Piranha/Qirex and another Mirage/Harimau. Assegai slips further down towards FEISAR, but not by much.

Colonel__Gadaffi leapfrogs myself for 25th with a considerable lead, though Frailavi drops from his tie with KGB to fall to 23rd.

Now, I need to announce that I'm taking a short sabbatical from WipEout and the PS3 in general for a long time. The reasons are numerous and fairly dull, but basically, my PS3 and my TV are in France, and I am not going to be in France for the forseeable future. My only chance to get any play time will be when I'm in Stockholm with Oryx_Crake and that's not exactly much of an opportunity to do wonders. That also means that... I'm afraid... there will not be a June Avalon unless someone else wants to try organising it.

It also means I won't be here to play and accept events as I had done before. I'm handing nominal control over to Colonel__Gadaffi to try and beat people into doing some stuff for these races, given that he's a wonderfully responsible and all-rounder pilot for everything. If I was to put it in the hands of a pilot for the pure Phantom events, I'd like to ask DP89 to help out when he can. :)

Anyway. While I'm gone, lets' see if we can get a couple of shows on the road with matchups that I'd personally like to see from pilots side-by side.

Frailavi - I advise you ask novide to take you up on that challenge. He's fairly close to you in the standings, and a more reliable or polite pilot you'll struggle to find. :)

Medusa, you're not alone amongst other pilots trying to learn ZB. ;) All I'll say is refuse any 'nice' offers from P_Denton, Colonel__Gadaffi, JFthebestJan, billychantxr33, yeldar or Rezatron, because they will all steamroller you. :P I'm not sure I'm aware of any other ZBers at their level. I'd offer to help, but no PS3 at the moment.

Edit: AG-Systems finally passes 200 races, and moves up into 5th in the rankings. I'm wondering if I should ask for a blockade on AG-Systems until one of the other teams reaches 200 races as well?

Also, zero3 moves up to 13th place between Tiduch and Nutcase259, KGB drops to 21st between Temet79 and Frailavi

I raced Medusa earlier tonight. Well, I must admit I was awfully lucky there, and she wasn't unfortunately. I've got something like 3-4 boosts on TDR, 2 on chenghou, lag (4 sec)+1 boost+quake on moa rev. To top it all, Medusa kinda had a slow start on the weps off race, which *really* made a difference (I suck at racing weps off and was slowing down at lap 5 for I had <5hp left^^). I'd rather had replayed that one, but we didn't have time, so I think you shouldn't account of that one in the results. Nevertheless, it was a good match, you were still close in the races and scored awesome kills toward the end of the eliminator. Thanks for the games :) I'd gladly rematch anytime (with a bit less of zb maybe ;) ).
So I guess I'm free for another challenge :

Adjudication? Sorry GM and XR, you're overruled. There's no stopping anyone doing long races for their choices - 20-lap races are a staple of Avalon, and I think Luxoflux specialised in them - he won the Avalon Cup after all.

Given that you set the challenge and nutcase accepted it, the only way you can back out is to accept a 0/7 loss. I say just go for it, and work on your endurance skills. ;)

My word is he quick! I know we've met online before but in fairly full rooms. There's no hiding in a 1vs1 though. He got two top ten times (5th and 8th) in the five SRs we did, and I doubt his other times were exactly sluggish. Oh and he's lethal, I mean properly lethal with mines and bombs. No spamming, just devilish placement.

Well I'm really pissed off with myself. I finally got around to doing the videos of my match with Morfeo, set them both to upload and deleted the raw footage. Only when I went to edit the description of the second video did I realise I'd used the same tune on both videos.

Without the ability to change the music as I'd deleted the raw footage, I cancelled the upload of the 2nd video and deleted the first from Youtube. Now I just feel like I'm being a dick and obsessing over nothing, the videos took about 3 hours to make and the best part of a day to upload.
