Just got a message from someone working for the How To Spend It supplement of the Financial Times. Their latest online article talks about a (very expensive) service offered by Marble Arch Odeon cinema in London. For the low price of £1250 for two hours, you can plug your console into the cinema projector and play what you want on the big screen! Imagine how sexy HD would look on that! :)

Here's the article:

The video cracks me up. The journalist asks how it works, and the projectionist fella may as well have said, "Err...you plug it in and turn it on, duh!".

Looks kind of fun. I bet if it were done outside of London you could do it for half the price. But it would still be so much cheaper to just go to any old cinema and bribe one of the staff to let you in after hours.:nod

That's how I've been play HD since it came out.

PRO's
Really involving "You are there" experience, especially in cockpit view.
Can see everything that is happening easily, unless a bomb blows up in your face.
Great for introducing Wipeout to people who have never known about it previously.

CON's
Has to be in a light controlled room, so it can get hot.
Impossible to type with keyboard in dark room, so have to use controller :frown:
Sebenco/Phantom/Cockpit view = :dizzy

This is a classic video of some people who hooked up their Wii to a cinemas projector and played sports on it, turned it into a bowling ally.
