I saw that this much anticipated WWII mini series The Pacific started on HBO in the US on the 14th.
The first of 10 episodes.
Made by Tom Hanks & Steven Spielberg, like Band of Brothers a few years back.
I watched it and thought it was OK ,and it's very early days yet in this series, but I thought there wasn't as much character development at the same stage as there was in Band of Brothers.
I realize that one of the main characters of the story has yet to join the others,so I'm expecting the story to fill out considerably.
There was a puzzling moment though ,for some strange reason the fighting at Alligator Creek, at the end of the first program, seemed to unexplainably drift out into a semi retrospective dreamscape of the machine gunner, which I found a weird way of telling a story.
Never the less,I'm looking forward to next weeks installment.
