The most annoying thing just happened, after waiting half an hour for ninja gaiden sigma to install i got the message that there was no more space on the hard drive.

(the install got canceled, which is weird how can it half install and then run out of space? doesnt it check first:?)

but back on topic, do i have to buy a new internal hard drive? Or can an external one in the usb port also install games and save files, and run them?

You will need an internal hard drive to install additional game data. An external hard drive can only be used for media files and backups of saved games.

Why not just delete some stuff on your current hdd?

Thanks dd, thats just what i needed to know,

and abukii the problem is that apart from 3 short movie clips i only have save files to delete. I would not like to lose all progress for all those games.

Yikes...all save files!!?? How many games do you have...like 9 million:D

An External HDD is definitely the answer then. Just format it to FAT32 and plug and play.
Good luck.

The PS3 cannot load save files from an external hard drive. An internal hard drive is required (and cheaper)
