Country Flags in HD

i think it would be awesome if we could pick our flags as im an englishman but i live in the US, and i would like to fly my own flag. its not like im annoyed or anything but it would be nice^^

I just mentioned this to someone yesterday in the chatbox. I race for the Flying Dutchmen but live in the UK. It would indeed have been nice to be able to choose the Dutch flag. I'm considering getting a Dutch account for the sake of participating in the World Cup, but it's probably not worth it.

It's probably best anyway that they are fixed so that people can filter players out properly, e.g. EU players or US players, otherwise they could be from anywhere - not that anyone really filters games this way anyway, and I don't think the game applies any restrictions even if you do. I guess the flag could just be changed visually while all the account information could stay the same so the game could still know where you're located, and other people could still filter out US-hosted games if they really wanted to.

Anyway, I feel your 'pain', although I am just as English in reality as Dutch so flying the Union Flag is no big deal for me. I do secretly feel like a bit of a traitor though. :lol

The leaderboards should also carry the flag. As I told many times before,
WipEout HD lacks user personality. We are just some PSN nicks with some
numbers attached to it. That's odd. Would be cool if SL can implement a
user profile page including various stats and some user added comments
and things alike into WipEout. Why not?

good idea..

when i used to play ridge racer on 360. the leaderboards had all the flags on it. basicaly rank 1 to 100 was japan..lol and all the othwer countries. you could click on any name on the leaderboards for info on the players and even downoad the ghost for the record in question.So you could easily tell if the record in question was legit.

When HD first came out,when you raced online a little flag used to appear next to your name while racing,I don't know whatever happened to that feature,it just disappeared roughly 3 weeks after release.

Roughly the same time voice chat started to really get bad.

I don't understand this, I have seen the flags at a friend's place, but I don't get to see any flag at home.

I am in france, playing WipEout HD + Fury bought off the US PSstore. My game is 2.01...

It's really no big deal I guess...
