I think everybody celebrates the holiday thanksgiving, and now that its coming up this year, in two or three more weeks.

What are your plans?

not even all 'americans' [USonians] do. i do not, nor do i have any plans for the day.

and as far as i know, Canada, though it may possibly have some sort of thanksgiving day, it is not celebrated on the same day as it is in the U.S. [this may be confirmed or denied by the real Canadians amongst us]
the U.S. is the only country in the world that celebrates the thanksgiving holiday, which is a strictly local affair. about 300 million people out of 6 billion, only 5 percent of the world's population

How to deal with racial isssues, by my Father v

Black man says to my father - "sir what part of mexico are you from?"

father says to black man - "what part of africa are you from"

black man - "sorry sir, i understand what i did"

This applys to everyone, if a white person asks where your from, ask them, "what part of england are you from?!"

:P :P :P

Canadians celebrate Thanksgiving on the second Monday in October (this year, that was the 14th) but for us it's more of a harvest thing and/or a see the family thing, not a bone-ified holiday like Christmas part zero or something. We do get the day off though!

:)

that's what it is here as well. started as a harvest festival, then when the nature of society altered with the coming of mobility and family separation, it became one of the two major excuses/opportunities of the year to see distant members of the family. it's been pounced on by the growers of turkeys and sellers of food and the makers of greeting cards as a chance for extra profits, but other than that, it's a pretty pure holiday. back when i still had a family, it was my favourite, even above christmas

i wont have a family for long either, i am being relocated in eastern Kentucky with my mother, she and my father are getting seperated, they say after the holidays.

so much has happened in my 14 years, lost some friends, gained many, found Electronica and myself. all i can say about the matter is............nothing

there wont be internet for me i can imagine for a while, my mother has a horrible Bingo playing habit, that is the main reason my parents are seperating, DAMN BINGO, DAMN IT TO HELL!
the only thing keeping me together is my future, if i want a good one, i must focus on it and let the other problems be.

and i QUOTE!

the bingo is more likely to be a symptom of the real problem, rather than being the problem itself

I will only be eating turkey here at my family's house with my grandma as the only guest. And that's all I guess. Nothing else to do =/

I can't stand turkey. It's an ugly bird. Sometimes no matter how well it's cooked you get the pink patches of meat that taste funny. That could, however, be a wierd UK thing. Turkeys suck.

in addition to what myke said about turkey, i find it becomes unreasonably dry in a very short space of time.

if turkey ever wants to become a mainstream meat contender, our gobbling friends are going to have to think long and hard about how to retain more moisture when cooked and refrigerated.

otherwise i fear they are destined to remain a specialist item, only eaten on public holidays and no serious threat to the likes of pork, chicken, beef, and other more fridge-friendly animal products.

you can fry turkeys around here. get a turkey, do whatever you want to it (highly recomend barbecure sauce stuff it) then drop it in the deep fryer for 30 min. and preston, you got the juiceiest, highest (calorie) quality turkey you can imagine!

God bless deep fryers!

Maybe, instead of going over to see my aunts, uncles, cousins, the whole family get together.

I will go clubbing
, their aren't any good Cream festivals here in the U.S.or German Love Parades or anything else for that matter, at least not this year
