Check out the teaser trailer here (http://uk.pc.ign.com/dor/objects/18954/mech-warrior-project/videos/mechwarrior_trl_phoenix_70709.html)!

I absolutely love this series, imagine what they could do with it now computers are far more powerful then they were 7 years ago!

They talk how they are now finally able to create a real mech cockpit experience, now that the technology is far enough and stuff... well *ahem*, ever heard of Steel Battalion? THAT's how you do a mech game.

Plus, I really don't appreciate the art direction (or lack thereof) in this new trailer. The destruction is rather nice though.

Id never really heard of steel battalion until now. While it certainly looks a beast (especially with the monster control setup!), it is x-box only (which I dont have). Im a massive Mechwarrior fan though, and have been for years. I cant wait to get into the cockpit of a Madcat again and rain LRM destruction on my foes! In fact, I might reinstall Mechwarrior 4 soon... Im getting nostalgic...

I can see what you mean with the art direction, it does look a little dreary and dark. But wait and see what comes next, it is only a teaser after all....

Oh I'm not talking about the dark setting - it's the design of the mechs themselves, pretty blunt and uninspired if you ask me. The one that represents the main enemy in this clip looks like a 6 stories tall version of the guy from Army of Two - not like an actual, practical, effective mech - meh...

Which sky-high walking robot ever does? ;-)

I'm quite excited about the new MW, though. What's out there in modern Mech games pretty much sucks - it's high time for another good one!

Oh my, MW2 was part of my Voodoo card bundle... has it really been that long? *g*

The mech you saw in the vid is Atlas. Mechwarrior has been around for a very long time and Atlas in particular is a classic that I doubt many would want any drastic changes made to. It has always been more armor focused. Mechwarrior itself is suppose to represent a so called "primitive" age of mecha anyway and in this case I think the designs are spot on.

I'm pumped, Mechwarrior was awesome back in the day.

For those who don't know, mechwarrior 4 is going to get a free online re-release soon.

Oh, the days of Voodoo cards and Mechwarrior 2: Mercenaries... Ghod I played the hell out of that!

And how I miss my Timberwolf (only ComStar scum calls it a MadCat) :twisted

I may even have to buy another PC just for this...

the last mechwarrior game I played was on the ps1. This looks sweet, do you think it will arrive on the ps3?

Doesnt look like it. Everything I see is for PC and X-Box. Ive also found out since, that this video is ingame using the Unreal Engine (although things like the HUD are still likely to change). I thought it was just a rendered trailer. To be fair for in game graphics it looks pretty sweet.
