guys, i'm not totally out of wipeout topic there...
i cut my thumb while cutting some oignons ...
you never know how precious is your thumb, until you cut it.
you cant play wipeout anymore when it happens .... watch out, oignons are dangerous !
had to be away from circuits during 2 weeks !

I agree. I got a sore thumb using that stupid thumb-directional-stick-thing on my PSP playing WipEout (surprise! Ive got so many games for my PSP but Pulse is the only one I play on it). The pattern of the plastic rubbed my thumb raw to the point where couldnt play games on that or my PS3 for a while until it got better!

I've noticed an indentation on my right thumb, from exerting force over continuosly long periods of time... Sometimes even after the race has ended!
I think I've heard this 'flat thumb from gaming syndrome' referred to as Playstation Thumb! not joking! I might google it, see if it's for real.

Yeah Playstation Thumb has been suffered and mentioned by many here from the first wipeout, where you had no choice but to use the D-Pad.

Same with elbows. I've been skating and mountainbiking or BMX riding my whole life, just about, and I've had a few accidents where my elbows take a good scraping.
It's then you realise you can't do anything - you lean on them for just about everything. Even sitting to play a game, I usually rest my elbows on my legs.

LOL, so true on SF...That's the one game that guarantees a sore thumb. Especially the Alpha series, but the psp gets a bit uncomfortable when playing wipeout, i think it's because of the top buttons set as airbrakes. Not as relaxed posture as a ps3 controller.

In my opinion, no offense was meant by the remark; it seems intended as playful joking.

Amen to that, SF Alpha 3 caused me a blister on my left thumb. The D-Pad of a Dual-Shock is a bit too unforgiving.
