Thought I'd give you a heads up as some of you are most likely using the service.



We regret to inform you that due to the current economic conditions we are forced to indefinitely suspend the FileFront site operations on March 30, 2009. If you have uploaded files, images or posted blogs, or if you would like to download some of your favorite files, please take this opportunity to download them before March 30th when the site will be suspended.


We would like to give a warm thank you to all of you who have been part of the FileFront communities we have built together. Your support has had a meaningful impact for all of us here at FileFront. Again, we want to give you a sincere “thank you” for your support over the years and wish you all the very best.

Oh man, this sucks! Where am I going to look up Dawn of War and UT04 maps/mods now?
I'd actually be interested to know how much a month those guys shell out, y'know?

Testing the other hosts of the BeyondUnreal fileworks (http://download.beyondunreal.com/fileworks.php/official/ut3/UT3TitanPack.exe) I've found that "GameServers.Net FTP (The Netherlands)" and "GameWorldNetwork Indirect HTTP (Arizona, USA)" provide reasonable speeds like FileFront without queues. "AtomicGamer Indirect HTTP (Wisconsin, USA)" has a queue system and "Gamer's Hell Indirect HTTP (US and Europe)" just doesn't work :lol

Myself I've rehosted my map on MediaFire (http://www.mediafire.com/?sharekey=ac4e894ae36fb46dd9d5c56d04dfa8b042894bb9 2d3d12bcb8eada0a1ae8665a), but there are plenty of others who have not done so and are still on FileFront only :blarg

Alas, I have UT3 on the 360, which Epic Games couldn't give a toss about. :mad:
There's an awful lot of maps and models for 2004, should grab 'em before they go.

Oh man, I didn't know they had TrackMania files on there! This truly is a shame.

Harv, they don't give a toss because M$ won't let people use their own content, best guess I have as to why is so that nobody copies Master Chief like M$ copied Gordon Freeman's HEV suit in Half-Life (I'm talking of how the dead HEV suit wearers in Xen look very similar to Master Chief).

Yes, do not blame Epic. If MS wasn't so butthurt with file sizes and free content, Xbox 360's UT3 would be on par with the PS3's by now for certain (Not with the PC though, but that's obvious).
But because MS is, Titan Pack may never see the light of day on 360 :o and that's a real shame.

Yeah, I heard about M$ having a cry about user created content on Live. I don't blame 'em, I'd download the Master Chief skin and never buy Halo 3!

I assure you all that the forums being online at this time is not a joke or something that is temporary. What information I have is that there will be more information to be expected sometime tomorrow. I myself am not entirely sure what is going on and why the forums are back online. I'll know when you know really. I was just instructed to let you know that this is for real and not a joke by any stretch of the imagination. I know many will not believe me because of the terrible timing, but the persons that I had talked to about this would never joke with me about this sort of thing.

More to come as I find it out.
