Use pro-pow-e adaptor only

I never had a Neo Geo personally (never liked any SNK arcade games), and I haven't spoken to the people I know who own a few in ages.

BUT... googling around, I've found a lot of conflicting information... both 5watt and 8watt consumption units, some using 5vdc and 9vdc... I also searched for "pro-pow-e" and was met with this:

If you enlarge the image, you can see that one is outputting 10vDC, Negative center w/Positive barrel, capable of delivering at least 1amp. The euro plug is a moot point because you're just concerned with the output.

Here's an ebay auction showing the 5v/3amp power supply up close:

can you get a good picture of the back/underside of the machine?

Maybe asking on a NeoGeo forum?

I don't know, I tried the neo geo forums with no luck. I really don't want to buy the 5 volt thing for so much money. I have the sega adaptor that supposedly works with some systems (10v), but who knows. That was a euro plug as well.

All you need to figure out is what voltage your machine is, and how much current it will draw. With that info, you can just buy an appropriate AC-adapter from radioshack or something, and outfit it with the proper size plug (and make sure polarity is correct). THere's absolutely nothing on the console that says its electrical requirements?

I wrote what it said in the first post. That was all there was. Unless opening it would say something regarding volts and amps. Eric, it looks like it was a euro system sold to me as a ntsc-a system. Bull**** I'm going to try and get my money back, The freakin person knew this was a euro system. I know you can mod it, but that cost more than the system itself

take pics to document it and ask on the www.gamesx.com forums

they have a placeholder for a neo cart 50/60hz mod page, but apparently it hasn't been figure out yet:

I doubt it would really be that expensive. And if you look at that PRO-POW-E adapter, it has a 110v/220v switch on it, so you could probably use it here in the states.
