***Please excuse me if there is a similar thread about***

Some of you will know that im a graphic designer and a keen racer! But u may not know that i produce large (a1/a0) size canvas piece's from screen shots 2097 to wip3out. Now you can imagine how happy i was when i saw Photo mode [] in game. I have taken may shoots but know that there is the right one out there!

So.... If anyone has AWESOME photo's please psn me or upload them here. Best one will be made and photographed for my new room. What i need is...

* a widescreen aspect (2feet by 6feet, similar to a bank note) so focal point in the middle, though i can crop it if need be.
* high resolution if poss otherwise in-game wohd will work.

Thanks, hope to see ur best pictures soon!

Knew you wanted good WO HD shots, but now I know why. Good luck finding THE one! ;)

And I'm pretty sure there is a photo thread by the way.

@chaos 80. Yea always after pictures, but this one is gonna be big and it need to be the 'right' image... ill post a couple i like and get a bit of feedback. You'd be amazed what you get sent if you send one of your own. 50+ from PSN alone.:D

and thanks chboing, thought they're may be one but was hoping to give people a chance to have their's painted, just an idea. Will have a look at the thread...:+

It'll be my first Wipeout HD acrylic on canvas. Thinking of zone or a nice Ag-systems snap.

I think the biggest you'll can get is tied to people TV's screens, ie 1920x1080. Is that big enough?

As a fellow graphic/web artist/designer, I say good for you.
I really want to make up some mock ship designs later. :)

The third-to-last would lend itself perfectly to a large scale print. Black and white Sol2 is simply uber-stylish!

I took 5 and 7 myself, it seems ill be using zone for my image, bold colours and trails from the craft. Might even try photoshopping a colour image of AG-System over the black & white scene.

Anyway will be taking a few this week and posting them :g

@kigo, very nice explosions, excellent timing! was trying to get it on zone mode as looks cool but im a fraction 2 slow. ill probably be able to photoshop those explosions and add it to my ag-s scene.

@insertcoin, that picture captures the style of woHD and has the aesthetics im after. cheers.

Have been given so much inspiration ill be snapping rather than racing!

I did post this link in the photos section but if you havent checked it out, ive got loads of pics here:
http://www.flickr.com/photos/youarefubar/
About half way through theres a lot where ive played with the saturation and the other effects to make the shots more interesting. They should all be 1080p full resolution.

24th January 2009, 04:53 PM
Thank you, youarefubar! You have given me more AWESOME pictures to choose from... I will pick 3-4 from your gallery and put them up with a couple of my own which i may use. All being well i should be able to start in the week after choosing the final picture....

Those are some awesome shots yourarefubar. I really wish they were higher quality so I can use 1 as my desktop :(

YouAreFubar

They should be 1920 x 1080 resolution, thats what my TV runs at when im taking them so they should export at full res. Ill have a look now....

I didnt realise Flickr would compress the images. Ill find a new image host and re-upload them.

While im trying to get Imageshack working (wont batch upload or transfer from Flickr, even though it says it is), I can send the pics out by email if you cant wait and they are full 1920 x 1080. Just PM me your email address.

Sorry mate but some of the photos really don't appeal to me, the shots are nice but you seem to be making the classic mistake of overusing/misusing filters because they're easy.

No offence meant though, I just don't feel this one, I personally prefer to add a little twist to mine.

andybob35
2nd March 2009, 06:08 PM
Well the composition of the shot was my main starting point, catching enough kinetic energy of Wipeout HD in ultra-widescreen frame size. Granted I could have used other filters/masks but in the end I’ve got to paint it! I used paint daubs first and then the cutout filter; this simplifies the image but keeps the aesthetics in my opinion.

It’s very hard to recreate the design concepts that Designer’s Republic have used for years. Especially difficult without a drawing tablet to draw over and rework my sketches. If I were producing ‘arty’ style wallpapers, then more thought processes would be used, don’t get me wrong, a critique of my work is always appreciated. Will have to see your style of work sometime.

Check my thread ;), don't get me wrong though. It's not bad... It's just not what I'm into. I agree with you about the no tablet thing though. I have to do all my work with a laptop mousepad!

2nd March 2009, 07:23 PM
Not meaning to be rude here, Feisar Ltd., but judging from your own design thread, you're in no position telling andybob he's overusing filters :P

Granted, applying those filters to the source image is nothing special in itself, but it sure helps if you want to paint the thing in oil or acrylic.

Here's some photos which were originally for the "How High can you get " post that I forgot to put a link to.

Nearly all are of AG systems, all photos are 1200 X 1080.

@Feisar limted, i have looked at your work and its not bad, would take me years to paint ur style. I can see your use of layers, filters and adjustments. Pretty nice but 'busy'. Your logo/intro picture uses drop shadows well as well a little bevel and emboss. Good work, wen i get time i do similar pieces (3D modeling is my art form)

@Blackwiggle, some excellent shots, love the glitches when they happen (except online ugh!) gotta be quick on the pause/photo mode!

Hopefully this weekend ill post my 1st completed canvas ready to be painted on. I think in future ill be doing just one A1 sized canvas! Thx ppl for the support!
