Since HD is the only Wipeout game playable on the PS3 [other than people owning the old backward compatible units],I thought this the most appropriate place to post this thread.[I leave it to the mods discretion if need to be moved].

I don't know about you but I've got a bit fed up with not knowing what the various PS3 error codes mean,I've search the net,and until now all the sites had only partial lists.

I thought a more complete one would benefit all here,so here it is.

If anybody knows of any others please post them

I always wonder when exactly are they going to start actually telling what the hell went wrong instead of vomiting out and error code. I suppose they assume we are all Sony Techs who know what they're doing.

Since HD is the only Wipeout game playable on the PS3 [other than people owning the old backward compatible units]

Well you can play Wipeout 1 without any special PS3 if you buy it from the Playstation Store.

I originally wrote that back in January when the original wipeout wasn't in the store

Heya, Blackwiggle. A friend of mine in the UK (England) recently upgraded his 60 gig to a 250 gig. He backed everything up and installed the new HDD. Now when he tries to access his profile, he always gets an error code at like 50% (sync). It only shows [him] a few of his trophies. Any idea what this would fall under and/ or a possible fix? Ive emailed him a link to this thread, so I may have more info on the dilema.
Thanks:+:+

You going to try and edit your post to include solutions to these problems? :)

I know of 1 - 0710102 (or any other DNS error).

Simply change your DNS setting to:
Primary: 4.1.1.1
Secondary: 4.1.1.2

Found this gem of a solution on youtube and have never had a DNS problem since.

edit:
forgot to mention that IF you have another problem, simply change the DNS back to auto and itll fix itself again.
Im not a computer nut, and dont understand why this works, but it does :g

Have you ever rung SONY support about a error message ?
THEY don't even know what 40% of them mean let alone know how to fix the problem.:eek
That's why it left to us mugs to use the internet to talk to each other and try to find what exactly the problem is and then find a fix

It seems new error codes exist for each different variation of PS3 and each new system update brings new ones as well .:dizzy.

I'm no expert at what is wrong with your mates console.
But,it sounds like either the backup was corrupted in some way, either when it was originally backed up or when the back up was transferred to the new drive ,it now won't sync properly with his PSN account.

I suggest asking at an official Playstation forum in the Technical Help,Support and Advise section, you can miss it,it the busiest and largest section of the site.:D
That's why they try to hide it at the bottom of the page :D:D

Here's the link to the UK site.

Believe it or not, the problem sorted itself out. Ill see if he has the actual error code written down to share here. He said, quote, "I dont know what party was happening in the PS world, but its sorted mate..."
LoL
Thanks for the link though.

Here's a site that gives you ALL the know information about the various models of PS3's that have been released.

It also has down at the very bottom of the page some "super Secrets" that some might find useful if you have a disc stuck or want to clear the fan of dust.
