HD pilots not in the zone?

Was wondering what good pilots you guys have come up against, that arent here in the zone?? So i can look out, and try recruiting them :)

I tried (to no avail) to contact a fantastic Harimau pilot called Greenix the other day. He was very, very good. I dont seem to come across many really, REALLY good Harimau players, but this guy was awesome.

In all fairness most others i intended to mention seem to have found their own way here :)

evolite is good, but at times seems too full of himself, i remember a month or so ago, we were all playing and i was winning race after race...he continued to message me saying i was lucky everytime, or an excuse like that.

I've raced Evolite too, a very good Feisar pilot but not one for losing. I was having a very fun race with him/her on Ubermall that was very close. It really ruined it when they messaged me saying "I'm not warmed up yet" amongst various other messages. I've seen Greenix in a tournament, another fine player. The_magic_hobo or something like that is a quick racer too, though I've only seen them once.

There are lots of quick pilots out there not in the zone, not all of the zone can fit in the top 100 ;)

Greenix is fast but (maybe) he isn't very fair play, last tuesday, I played with Wotan and others fast racers and after 2 races, he was fifth and he quited the tournament.
I have difficulty to understand this behaviour, when you are a fast racer as him, your aim is to progress, and less to win for all price.

I have to agree with eLhabib, Wotan and Quantum-avatar.
I have raced - or at least been on the same track as Greenix ... - several times. Never any problems, in fact I find him awfully nice and polite. I sent him a message after a given race-session, just to say thx for racing and to tell him how good a pilot I think he is. He answered me - (I´m rather new to WO) - that I was always welcome to ask him specific questions about WO (in the same spirit as the good people here at WO-zone). This I have done, and he really took some time to give some proper answers.
Greenix certainly knows about WO-zone - some day we might meet him here as well on the tracks.
Evolite and Spoon56 are 2 other pilots that pop up as being rather fast.
Most of the online-pilots, that impress me, are already a part of the WO-community.

In response to Kaori, I apologise to anyone who I have, and will, leave in a game abruptly, but with a newish member of the family (in the form of a demanding puppy) sometimes I just cant quite hang around and see things through to the end whether it is going well or not so good. I too aren't very keen on racers that instantly leave - sends out the wrong message of what they think WipEout is about.

Anyway, getting back to the topic in hand, I raced a pilot called bill29 earlier. He was kicking my ass until he had an unfortunate crash. He may have just had a good run cause he didnt do quite as well on races after that but definitely worth keeping your eyes out for.

How about PEPEDA? Icaras pilot. Anyone know him? I think he's from France, but I'm not sure...I don't have all the world flags memorized lol. Anyway, we always have good races and he added me as a friend a while back. Raced him a bunch of times today and he won most, but I beat him 2 or 3 times. When I lose to him I always seem to be just a couple of seconds behind. He's good peeps...I should try to make him a zoner.

I also always have good races with a girl I befriended...a Harimau pilot that goes by OBCT_Killz. Didn't know it was a girl until after I narrowly beat her in a tournament and shot "him" a message saying "Nice racin dude"...and then "he" replied, "You too...but I'm a girl lol." Of course, I should have been clued in to the girly factor when she messaged me after the 4th race and said "let me win next"...then when she actually DID win that race (I didn't "let" her win...she earned it) she messaged "good boy lol". We've played in one other tourney since and she finished ahead of me...so we're due for a tiebreaker tourney! Anyway, I should try to recruit her too...

IH8YOU: Is Heinz Ketchup from Japan, I raced him a while ago with another Japanese racer who was really good. I asked to be his friend but he hasn't replied and now, without looking at the ps3 don't remember what his name was. Cerium was there as well he might recall what it was.

There seem to be loads of good Japanese pilots out there but not on this forum. I think they could make a pretty good team up.

I've raced him before as well,I'm pretty sure he doesn't understand English as I've sent him messages with no reply.
On the Australian server his name comes up in Japanese and then is translated into English after a short time.
I remember when WOHD was first released in Japan [a lot later than everywhere else] and there was one person that completed the game in 6 days,never see him now after he finished it.
There is nowhere near the amount of Japanese players as I thought there would be,which is more the pity.

I lived in Japan for a while and most japanese are quite poor at english and are very self concious about it. Took me half a year to get my neighbour to even try and say *anything* in english and this is even while helping her with her english homework (we were both university students).

Japanese pilots are always such gracious hosts, giving you ample time to select a ship, making sure there are enough people, never leave if they are losing, etc. None of that "Yay! A third player! We can start that 12 race tournament now, I'll just hit START RACE right away, they don't need to select a ship, the default one will do!" crap.

That said, bring on the japanese so I can practice my japanese language skills (I suck, and I need practice).

Ive played against Cyno. He is pretty good, but IIRC, hed join the tourney and race a few, then leave.

I played 5 Tournies in a row the other night (50 tracks total, 250 laps:cold). The first 3 tournies, I came in first and the rest 2nd. I ran into an excellent pilot that was either trailing very close behind me [in points] or outright beating me. After the first few races, I thought that this guy/girl was more a veteran than me...Nihmx was his name. After my system froze during the 6th race, I had to restart. I ended up just leaving. So he sent me a FR and I added him. Come to find out, he had only gotten WO HD a week or so earlier. I was floored. If he had that much skill that early on, imagine what skill hed have in, say, 15 more years:banzai

Now, Videoman190 and I were pretty much battling for 1st all 5 of the races. As you can see, he won lol. Another pilot I want to credit is redrawandgone. Very, very good pilot.

Was racing against CoatlQuetzal on phantom Modesto a couple nights ago. Pretty good. DarkseidMD probably remembers him.

Had this unusual flag, too. It was just a diagonal gradient from green to orange. Before racing I remember thinking, "this should be interesting." Maybe this was a developer or a hacker or something. Or it could have been the flag of the Republic of Congo not displayed properly.

Yeah ,I saw he was back playing online ,If I remember correctly he said that HD had not been released in Mexico at the time everywhere else had got it.

I don't know if things have changed as I have only ever seen that icon he has used by one other player.
It looks more like the flag for the Congo than the one for Mexico though,so maybe it still hasn't been released there.

I even saw a player using the Hong Kong [China] flag the other day for the first time.

It's very easy to max out your friends list just by playing HD ,especially if you help out in Bling Brigade GG,as I'm sure others here will attest.

Then we had the great "Unable to sign in under original PSNID debacle with the HD servers",so I had multiple PSNID's for each person that suffered it,you should be glad you didn't have that happen to you,it to AGES to sort,glad that's over.

I don't know who had the post with the most swear words in it when that was going down,a tight race between Elhabib & Kigo1987 ......long term posters will KNOW who won it.:D

Sinus 1 was on a lot of peoples friends list,including mine.

He sent me,and apparently everybody else on his friends list a message about 4 weeks ago that he was deleting everybody as he found people messaging him unbearable.

I messaged others that I know were on his friends list and they confirmed that they had received the same message.

I hope he is OK, mannerisms like this [saying goodbye and giving things away] are the usual precursor to suicide.

Maybe he felt out of it being German [not that there's anything wrong with that] but there does not seem to be a huge German contingent of Wipeout players and that he would prefer playing games so he could be playing games where he could be talking in his mother tongue.

The ranking system is OK as long as you NEVER quit a race and that you beat somebody higher ranked than you.

Sinus is still around happily beating the rapier sh*t out of others. And gaining rank after rank until he dies of motion or 16:9-1080p60Hz exhaustion after achieving rank 100 (WipEout online God X ?). :p btw, he normally does not race phantom, which is a pity.

First off, let me tell you that sinus1 is ok. He got some issues with some people not playing
by the (hidden) rule of good sportsmanship. Additionally, he got 'stalked' because of his
high rank. But this doesn't mean that those who got delete from his list are the ones I'm

Actually, it might have been kender242 who I was thinking was good at Zone Battle, which he certainly is. I might have confused him with SenGoku81 because they share multi-digit numbers after their username and Zone Battled them in proximity.

There's another one who's very good on some select tracks, Ojgon91 or something, from Indonesia. He said he raced you once, Var, and lost, but the way he was beating me on AP reminded me of you and PS. I told him that, but he said you guys are good at all the tracks and he's just good at some. Still I didn't even have a chance.

About sinus1, I was really surprised today to find out that he doesn't give the other players any time to change their team or leave the game after he sets the race parameters. You'd think with the amount of time he's played online, he'd have learned the etiquette. Not very cool.

I raced him again early last week for the first time in ages.

Seems that the people he had deleted were the ones that raced Phantom [me again] and he doesn't like racing at that speed.

Anyway we are back on each others friends list again,so all cool.

Sinus is currently the top at 40.4% of level 87 which is Savant VII.

So the next name will be at level 90 ,which we don't know either.

Another one, but I'm not sure about the Nick: ...Skyer from Japan. I think this person was online for the first time. Raced MP Phantom with some really good racers (Top 100 I'd say) and started w/ Online Rank 4 when I joined. I raced him for about 10 flights and even lost some against him (I just started to suck on MP online some weeks ago :P ). If he really just started w/ W'O'' he does have pretty decent skills, IMO. He never DNF or finished last.

PafDuck plays mostly offline. When I saw him for this first time in a room I played a good 20 consecutive Rapier 1on1 races because I knew he had skills based on his records. I beat him 95% of races. He told me he's "a big loser online" or somesuch :D

I have spoken to SInus1. He won't become a member here, though he is aware of the site. His reason being, him being shy... as for the multiple PSN accounts - he says he has over 90 of them :dizzy for real... and I always catch him out coz he races in a very peculiar way... he absorbs everything but the red weps and turbos... that's it! He loves Red Weps (so do I :g) and he races anonymously coz he's aware that people keep finding him out and all he wants to do is race for fun!

I've had his SInus1 account on my friends list but heremoved me when I didn't come online for a week... serious racer this guy... but beatable on Phantom - it's his pet hate... rapier being his preferred speed class.

And yes, if I'm in a room wiith an ULTRA-NOOB with skills which betray his/her online rank - then I'd start to suspect it is Sinus1... then I stay in the room and follow his ass in races, looking for tell tale signs (RED WEPS mastery) if my suspicions prove me correct - then I PSN message him to let him know that he's been rolled... again - at which point he sends me a friends request :) but from the new account :lol

Anyway, He has spent more hours online than all of us, let's give him some credit yes? Peace to all

I ran into Sinus1 tonight, we had a really close 12-stage flash tournament (I won by 1 point). Seems like a cool enough guy, sent me a nice message afterward.

I've also been racing this guy dakuckse, he's a tough pilot to beat on flash and rapier. He says he doesn't know any shortcuts/tricks and almost never barrel rolls (!!), so his lines must be killer. I pointed him to the Zone but he says he's not interested.

From what I can tell he's not lying, when I raced him he didn't even br on the first jump on Sebenco, the hill on Ubermall or the big drop on Chenghou. So he's very beatable on those tracks when you br your butt off, but on a track like Moa Reverse he just kept getting further away :o
