Hey guys. I uploaded 3 more videos; 2 are of Sol 2 and the other is Ubermall.

I've been watching that SpikeTV show called the "Deadliest Warrior" (it compares 2 warriors and determines which is more deadlier). Anyhow, I compared my favorite ships the Harimau/TRIAKIS to see which was more lethal. blah blah blah... nvm

This is insane !

I always play on internal view so I think it may be a bit difficult at first to follow your line but I'll give it a try. I'm shocked that you in your 2nd Barrel Roll in the video used the boost to do it (between the 2 right turns), but you didn't go out of the track with that propulsion. I've still to much to learn in WipEout HD. Thanks mate for sharing this !

PD: By the way, what's the name of the song used?. My musical score is mainly focused on so melodic trance, but that song gives a future ambient too, so I would like to add it to my personal musical score.

Just by the way: Am I the only one who has the feeling that BRs appear more often on tracks were they were simply impossible to do in the games the tracks come from? Okay, Pure is probably slower in Phantom than WOHD is, but still it seems to me that ships need a lot less height to perform a BR.
Ah and then there's probably the face that pulling the nose up is a lot easier in WOHD comared to the PSP's buttons so there are more opportunities, eh?

That clearly shows what I'm missing from the external view. I'm with everybody who says that internal view adds an inmense value to this game with its speed feeling and barrel roll dope feelings, but at the same time I couldn't do some of the barrel rolls you're doing with that external view for sure. THIS IS AMAZING !

Looks like Yeldar is trying to be a pretender to my self-proclaimed Piranha crown ;). (Although there are a few other Piranha users just as good as me, if not better). That was a very nice run on Seb R which I hope you'll agree can be quite taxing with the heavier ships. I'll have a go to see if I deserve to make such a claim. It is worth the reward for mastering the use of Piranha and other heavy ships.

Good stuff sh1kamaru-. I absolutely suck at zone. That mode is just too intense for prolonged periods of time for me to be able to handle.

It'd hard enough to do the barrel rolls but getting a good line afterwards make it very tough. I guess it's a boring course for you compared to some as there is no shortcut and not many barrel rolls. It's not as much fun in that sense but also not as stressful for those of us with average speed fingers :lol

Hey NightArh - so far I'm not a fan of detonator. I'm not a huge fan of classic arcade shooters so that explains why I guess. I think it looks fund when Darkdrium does it though. I probably just suck a bit too much at the moment, but hopefully will get better. It's a very pretty looking mode, that's for sure.

Good news - I just ordered a HD PVR, so should be able to upload much better quality videos in future. Particularly in terms of sound quality. Yay!

Phaeton, are those sideshifts you do with the barrel rolls actually necessary? Is there a reason? Why don't you just stay in the middle of the track, i'm quite sure the BR's are still attainable.

i think it may be because (esp at venom) sideshifting it faster than going straight so it's easier to catch the air you need to BR

That was outstanding - and I rarely watch those vids. Very good time - BSB free, too. :nod

And - I'm almost positive he had to side-shift in order to get enough air to BR. That's common on Venom and Flash - most of the places you simply pitch up to BR on Rapier and Phantom - you have to get creative to do the same on Flash and Venom.

Sideshifting is the key here. :nod
You must sideshift left to do a BR into the tunnel without using turbo. It also works on other tracks: Sebenco Reverse for example.

That's exactly how I got my first under 20 seconds lap on Modesto Reverse, Pirhapac! :D Excellent video :clap.

I've been honing the barrel roll after the bridge for the last two days trying to see how much you can stick to the left side of the track without being put back on the track. I also usually end up going too high and getting stuck in the spectator pipes :P. The competiton with you fast French pilots is very enjoyable!

I also apologise for not sharing my techniques, I don't have a any better than a mobile phone camera to film my TV with at the moment. If I can get a hold of a good camera I'll show you some laps.

Haven't filmed it, but you can do a boost BR before the magstrip and land on it, or even sometimes completely skip the magstrip (Happened to me once.) Don't know if it's faster...

I think the Boost BR on modesto might be faster because if you do it properly you get BRs not one (you can chain 2 after the bridge) :D

you can do one more BR on TdR reverse.
boost on the transparent track after the 2 speed pads and before the tunel (you boost after this tunel), i'm sure you can go under 21.75...

This isn't anything special (it's not even Fury - sorry :(), but it's my first video in cockpit view (started last night), so I thought I would share:

Here's a video of number 2 ranking TT (almost) on Chenghou Reverse with external view, for comparison with the cockpit view video. The barrel roll after the second tunnel is now easier than it used to be, for me at least, but still isn't really necessary to get this kind of time. It would be necessary for anyone that wanted to beat Elois by any considerable margin though, I think, as he's set the bar very very high.

Dont know if i'm still rank 1 there, but i boost inbetween the two red building at the top of the hill at the start. If you time it right you can land for the second on the magstrip. Also try and cut that tight right hander a bit sharper an throw a right shift in to help around the corner. You should beat your ghost easily there. I think its 11 speed pads you can hit. Hope that helps pj :)

Nice initiative, having a series of Zone Battle tutorials up. I'm sure it'll help those struggling with this game mode. However, I recommend that you record video and audio separately when making a tutorial video, since it's quite taxing to pay attention to both racing and making sure your verbal explanation of what's happening matches up with the on-screen footage. Just record the video footage in the first pass, then put down a script that you can go through while viewing the video. That way you can avoid mistakes as well. :)

This where i did DA BOMB , on stage 14 i had the choice to finish the last fews turns and hope for enough points for gold or head butt the last bomb. I choose the more fun way. Aight, I'm slowly learning to incorporate manual reloads into my Detonator runs... the result: I got the elite gold medal on TDR reverse (with a score of 491k) after about 1.5 hours of practicing this new style of play. Thanks heaps, DD, even though it wasn't tip spoken out loud, the video showed exactly what I needed to know. :) I think I'll have some fun with manual reloads on other tracks, but first things first: learning the tracks for good. :robot

I don't know was that method posted before but i never saw that.

Lines could be better, a chicane after first BR was taken too wide and the finish is messed up completly. I'm sure that under 22:00 is possible but no time to master it.

You have to pitch early, a bit after you land a BR. Good timing is essential here.

Just thinking, do the two br's achieved by hitting the sides of the track on tech de ra rev. actually save time...? Because crashing into the corners actually wastes the amount of time the br gains... or is it actually faster?

EDIT: Using the red building method (thanks to pj's vid :P, and of course Barnster for discovering it ;)) on The Amphisieum Flash Time Trial i just set the new WR (2.23.69). I missed a speed pad and scraped a few walls aswell. Over time i reckon i could get that down to 2.22.XX... but we'll see ;). Wish I could hve filmed it but all i have is my phone :(.

Edit 2: 2:23.06 :). After being beaten by barnster within the minute of my previous time! Still, i missed 2 speed pads and made a couple of mistakes again. I can shave around another second off if i do a perfect run (which is unlikely :()

Edit 3 (LOL): 2.22.30. #2 after barnster decided to set an incredible time of 2.21.89 (wow). Leaving it at that... for now ;).

Edit 4: #3. Yeldar has now joined in in thwarting my efforts! Lol
