As the headlines say....BUT.
I want/need to actually HEAR what I might be in for before I decide what tracks I might add to my WO HD personal soundtrack.
I checked the forum guidelines before I posted this thread,so all should sit well with this thread.:D
SO,as it seems amazon has most tracks available regarding having a short listen to before you purchase, well why not use that for expressing your particular favorite track, one you think others would enjoy and music that you, personally think suits the game.
I've got this one to start off.
Artist:Jeff Beck
Album:You had it coming
Appropriate game tracks:Earthquake,Roys Toy,Rosebud.

http://ca.youtube.com/watch?v=6jClYvlRwko
E.S. Posthumus - Pompeii

The Doors - Roadhouse Blues (Crystal Method Remix)

General Midi vs Hyper: We've Been Waiting

My absolute favourite track to race to currently.
Dan F/Jariten - Halo (Backdraft rmx)
http://www.juno.co.uk/ppps/products/1352548-02.htm
Huge breakbeat track, has a very long intro and breakdown, easily edited out using Audacity (http://audacity.sourceforge.net/)
Welt in Scherben - Schlaraffenland
http://www.beatsdigital.com/index.php?artist_id=2359
Thumping, echoey German techno - perfect future speed mood music.

The Muse,
It seems ,thought having potential... needs .basically... editing.
What I think ,or dare I say it.....my idea for this threads content was to enable others to circumvent soundtrack problems....
Not so much as content as such, more of a ......I could race to that.
ADMIN's beware ....There is a whole sub culture of WO HD fans that are hard at it making their own little soundtracks.
In all honesty,I think a Sub forum might be in order regarding this.....it's going to blg.

I primarily listen to this only. Very trance like, never too distracting.

I didn't see a place to give it a preview listen, but I'm sure there is one. It's 2 discs, each disc is around an hour of music. Just start them up and fly. Works best with the music resume option, as each track is so long.

Or what, are we judging music taste here?

I have this track on my Wipeout HD list. Love it. Sounds great when racing. I cut the front a bit in a music editing program to start a bit later near the beat but never the less this is it. I have like 44 songs total thus far in the WO:HD folder. Pinnacle of the song is at 00:55 seconds!

Saw him live a couple of weeks ago, what a show. Though I don't think his music fits well in wipeout for some reason so I don't use it. Still, +1 in taste in music. Huge Juno Reactor fan here.

I put my copy of W3SE in, and since the music for that was CD Audio I just ripped it to the ps3.
W3 hud, w3se soundtrack...
might go back to the normal hud though
also, is it at all possible to build a custom playlist and have the game include the Wipeout HD original tracks also? I'd like to have a playlist that is a combo of the WO HD music plus whatever I add to it..

i listen to the original F-Zero soundtrack. Here's what I did:
I downloaded the SNES audio files here:
http://snesmusic.org/v2/profile.php?profile=set&selected=840
extracted the files with winrar, edited their lengths to be about 4 min long each (you can edit them in winamp with SNESAmp if they are extracted and not read-only), shortened the fade-out to 3 seconds, and rebuilt the archive with winrar.
http://alpha-ii.com/Download/Main.html#SNESamp
used SNESAmp in winamp to create .wavs of the songs (using high-quality output in SNESAmp; it makes the bass sound better, IMO):
used LAME to encode the files to 192 VBR mp3s (lame -V 2 --vbr-new):
http://lame.sourceforge.net/
this process can be done with any SNES game

I was doing some testing with new music to see if it fitted with WOHD (Electro Drum&Bass kinda stuff)
Did it work? Any recommendations of some Drum&Bass that works with Wipeout? Nothing too heavy or too fast, and absolutely no vocals! ;) Except maybe just in the background.
I recently got Paul van Dyk`s "Out There and Back" to try and dilute the excessive amount of breaks on my playlist and it works a treat..... really nice album and it feels like Wip3out all the way. :) With that in mind, does anyone have any other techno/trance recommendations from PVD or anyone else? I`m not usually fond of house/techno/trance or whatever you call it, and if there must be vocals only for atmosphere please! ;)

lunar - give psytrance a go, especially progressive stuff. The biggest problem you'll have is most tracks take a minute or three to get going, and mixed albums are rare.
what i tend to do is save net radio streams (which are mostly 1 or 2 hour mixed sets) to computer and then transfer over to ps3. psy-radio (http://81.88.37.2:8010) is a good example, along with Chromanova, Swedish Mushroom, etc (all on shoutcast radio in winamp)

Well that certainly had me confused hahaha. I was trying out the music of the PS2 game Kinetica, to see which fitted the game. Some of them don't (Unless you really like high-pitched choirs), but among the songs that work and that I was able to identify (Some sadly are numbered because I could not find their titles), there is "Energy Flow" by Vitae. You can listen to it in my Sebenco Reverse video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=38gqbuuSkB4&fmt=18), or in this one (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LOZllI_r06c).

ClasssicF-Zero music nice:+
Seems like your thread Blackwiggle has picked up a fair bit of momentum.
I got some nice old school Ministry of Sound that works quite nice with Wipeout HD.
This disk is perfect, its the "Ministry of Sound: The 2003 Disk 2 - Mixed By Ultrasun". Pure good **** for sure:nod, guaranteed to give anyone satisfaction.
Put it on track 17 'Love Me More (Club Mix) - Ultrasun, and let it rip on zone mode, very euphoric. Then let it play to the end of the CD.

Part of my WipEout HD mix includes their Mahadeva (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=onquKz5SYRs&feature=related), Aqua Line Spirit, and Power Generator tracks among other more progressive and hard house stuff from Solid Globe, Phase, Dirt Devils, and many more. They seem to really complement the highly energy pace of Phantom speed racing above all else ;)

anything from following artists and labels:
*Noisia (their fabric live mix was sooooo badass) and vision records. we've all heard seven stitches from wipeout, that song was just one of many. these guys are "teh awesomez".
*teebee and calyx, their solo stuff and their stunning colab "anatomy". calyx is the only guy to rival noisia for sheer awesome badassness.
*full cycle records esp. early krust (nicely satisfies my lust for big stupid mid 90s dnb) and awesomeness of fullcycle live CDs (everytime i've seen reprazent roni has been kinda sloppy but dynamite has been awesome, he's a genius - and i've touched both roni and dynamite on separate occasions! anyway full cycle live 2 is great for online racing, gets me pumped)
*anything truplayaz/ganja kru mark 1 (ditto satisfying lust for mid/late90s dumb n bass etc etc). closer, one life and stronger are all super awesome tunes wipeout
*my all time fave label, moving shadow records (esp. omni trio, dom & roland, early ez rollers). timecode's legendary cheapo mixups are solid gold for playing wipeout. ooh AQUASKY!!!
*some* good looking records (early, pre-mediocre bukem and conrad go really well for zoning out on phantom speed laps on pretty tracks eg. vineta k),
*breakbeat kaos (esp. Adam f's drum n bass warfare mixup by DJ craze, one of the most badass cheesy drum n bass/hip hop crossover records of all time). adam f's classic circles was pre-breakbeat kaos (i think hospital or his early label f-jams) but it's great for zone, an epic cd that also deserves to be listened to alone with your eyes closed and the headphones on.
*just about anything metalhedz of course! (incl. guys who have on again/off again relationship with the hedz eg. the legendary grooverider, the genius that is photek (esp. early stuff and solaris). and goldie! (I touched him once too, helping him get off the stage when he came down onto the dancefloor after the set to shake people's hands. such a gentleman!!! and another time i saw him on a 40 degree day. it was so hot the decks were burning his hands but when the roadies put up a sunblock he asked them to get rid of it because it stopped him from being able to see the audience. awesome, awesome guy)
*some* hospital records (they have some mediocre artists for sure). high contrast's high society album was an absolute classic.
*not the biggest ed rush and optical fan but the creeps is always great for wipeout, esp. white lightning and reach out.
*mix cds by craze and nicky blackmarket, and *some* andy c (and a few dj marky mixups too, he's maybe a bit poppy for my tastes though). good undemanding stuff for background music for racing
*few stragglers: disc one of klute's emperor's new clothes is a great wipeout cd - instrumental with mostly quick beginnings (no listening to intros that last until the race is over), bad compny's recent "inside the machine" (not as epic as their old stuff but again goes well with wipeout), aphrodite (esp. self titled first album & aftershock - again, quick intros = good racing. kinda poppy but hey it's classic stuff)
btw i like drum n bass

:eek - y'know, in my real life apart from wipEout, I mostly listen to classic rock, but it never seemed to fit all to well with wipEout for me. But then I never tried the Immigrant Song with it - really works! Must've to do with the riding beat, there must be others that fit well. I tried all of Wolfmother - one of my favorite bands - but it simply won't fit...

Yeah I definately know what you mean with the rock music, some of it just doesn't go and ends up putting you off your stride. I do have a few other rock tracks on my playlist though, I'm a massive Queens of the Stoneage fan and most of their songs work really well....I think sick, sick, sick is a good one, but I love em all. Other than that I've got some Kyuss, Black keys, Primal Scream (Miss Lucifer and Swastika Eyes are good ones), Beastie Boys and some random 80's rap hehe (along with all of the fluke, prodigy, FSOL, Chem Bros etc). Some rock music really does fit well...as does a bit of Bowie...Lets dance! :lol

Am I the only one here who rocks out to NIN in WOHD?
I mean there isn't much that can top cranking Discipline while unloading a Plasma in Phantom.
I've got multiple playlists for WOHD - because it was just waaay too bipolar with all of my music in just one, I had to sub-divide. This is just a very limited idea of what's in these lists.
Angry Wipeout - NIN, Offspring, Korn, Zombie, Orgy, Econoline Crush, Stabbing Westward (you get the gist of this grouping)...
Wipeout - all my favorites from EVERY Wipeout game (ripped from most of the game discs themselves), in addition: Infected Mushroom, Cirrus, Juno Reactor, Paul Hartnoll, Noisia, FSOL, Banco De Gaia, Dreamweaver...
Zone - Mainly relaxing trance type to keep your cool during Zone. FSOL Papa New Guinea (mello magic maze mix), Lisa Miskovsky, Banco De Gaia, Cold Storage...

I'll recommend the music of Gez Varley (http://www.discogs.com/artist/Gez+Varley) (aka G-Man). I got his album Bayou Paradis cheaply, before Wipeout HD came out, when I learned that he had been in LFO. I tried it with Wipeout and loved it. I picked up Avanti as well and it also works beautifully (although I took out the "Lollipop" track). It's not quite the kind of music I usually listen to, but I think it's great for racing.

Good recommendations Feisar, I like the sound of those for racing. The odd mellower track on my playlist is a good thing amid all the thumping breaks and trance anthems! It sounds a bit like some Laurent Garnier tracks I have, and also a bit of Sasha/John Digweed stuff that I race to.
I agree with the general shout for LTJ Bukem, but I think you have to be careful with him. His quality stuff (http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=XWR3HppFUxM) is mesmerizing but, imo, he easily crosses the thin line between this and pretentious new age cheez, often complete with psychobabble lyrics, which tries way too hard to be inspirational and visionary. I think I`ve found all the stuff I like from him, the rest I just find quite depressing.
I found quite a lot of good racing music lately, I`ll post links when I get time. Thanks everyone for ideas, this is a great thread. :)

I listen some long mixes of progressive psytrance (psychedelic trance), especially in Zone mode ; it let me stay on the rhythm ascending AND get me zen & cool :) I recommand you !
Some artists in this category I recommand a lot :
• DRURY NEVIL - FREAKS OF THE DARK
• Phatmatix
• Brain Driver (Lume)
• Khopat (Re-Activate <3)
• Rev (Bilateral dysfunction)
• Pirated Machines (pirated mind)
• Psywalker (chemical trance)
• Atomic Pulse
...
I think this type of music corresponds PERFECTLY to wipeout HD !!! you MUST try for an absolutely amazing experience in flow !
• KRAFTWERK is excellent mixed with Wipeout world !
For tournaments and unique race, I'm listening more darktrance and techno industrial music...Then when you beat your AG opponents in a big explosion, you get high on hardcore muzik !
• X-Fusion
• Noisuf-X
• Alien Vampires
• Groupe T
• Angoria
...
But not too much hardcore too, because too disturbing to rest concentrated and cool in bends Oo ! Use with moderation ^^
(Sorry if my english is poor, I'm french ^^)
But definetively electronic music. Experimental...Ambient : why not try ? IDM...Breakcore...Trance, psy...GOA...Industrial :)

Hey guys!
Fresh Wipeout HD convert here, just got the game a few days ago. Now, I haven't played racing games since Wipeout 2097 for the PSX and Motorhead for the PC (both of which can only be found in museums now, I guess :D ), but I remembered how much fun I had with them back then so I decided to give HD a try.
Of course this means I'm probably going to have the worst lap times of all the forum-goers for a long time (RPG-s don't exactly require you to have quick reflexes and fast wiggles on the analog stick...), but that won't stop me from trying to get some silverware (i.e. trophies) now and then. :)
Anyway, before I drift even further off-topic: one of the aforementioned oldie racers, Motorhead, actually has a brilliant soundtrack (and one that goes so well with WipEout that you'd think it was originally made for that game), made by a swedish composer called Olof Gustafsson. If you can get a hold of an original copy of the game, you'll find that any CD ripping utility will recognize the tracks as CD audio (with the exception of track 1, which is of course the game). If not, you might bump into the guy's website via Google and get them there, though I haven't searched for it in like 6 years, so it might not be available anymore.
Another recommended album is Millenium Fever by Apollo 440. Great songs that really match the fast-paced action on screen.
Oh, and one more song that deserves an entry here is Ride the Comet by Ayreon (album 01011001), I just got to Zone 42 while listening to it! Currently I can't imagine getting anywhere near 75, but back when I tried this zone mode I couldn't imagine getting two perfect laps in a row either, so... :)

It may be a stupid question, but it seems to me that you cannot play a custom soundtrack (by selecting an album on the HDD) and include the official WipeOut HD soundtrack at the same time. Am I correct ? or do I missed the option to use include both soundtracks ?
If that so, the only solution would be to get the WOHD musics on the HDD but that would be stupid to have to do this when the soundtrack is already in the game u_u

Heh I'll give that a try, at the moment all I have on my PS3 are the albums Pretty Hate Machine and Broken. I seem to be loving their old sound more, but some of their later songs are awesome too. Sorry for the 4 month delay on the reply :P
I'm liking the Blur and QOTSA attention as well, nice one Stinkleroy and SaturnReturn :D
Got two more I somehow missed...
Dave Tipper (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FT8K7zuZrO0) (His album Tip Hop is my favourite album of 2008, such a great scratch/hip hop sound)
Does anyone have a sound system with some really PHAT bass potential? If so, please listen to this Mistabishi track (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g5jPpmRFY1w) with it turned up loud and tell me how long it took for your pants to vibrate down to your ankles, its goddamn sweet this tune.
Also Sch@dows no you can't do that I'm afraid, your only option is indeed the silly time wasting option :P But hey, at least if you put it on your PS3 you can play it in other games. I've always wanted to ask everyone as well, ever notice how the random function doesn't work that well? I've had all my songs put into an 'all' playlist, over 200 songs, and I'm sure I keep hearing the same damn tracks.
lunar
5th May 2009, 02:22 PM
I think you`re right about the random playback not being truly random, or even very close to random maybe. I have 284 tracks on my playlist and sometimes I think it is just that our minds are inclined to see patterns where none exist, and that tracks are not really being repeated too much, but then at other times my PS3 seems to have an affinity to one particular Paul van Dyk track so much that I now hate it. Anyway I found that changing the playlist order might cure it. I put a different track as the first on my playlist and haven`t heard that one PVD track since, although I could be imagining that too.

6th May 2009, 03:49 PM
Of course if you have the Pulse soundtrack you can copy that over to your PS3's hard drive (like I have with all the Wipeout games' soundtracks), and that way you'll be able to hear the songs that come as default with Wipeout HD. Basically HD's soundtrack is 1/2 of Pulse's soundtrack (9 out of 16 tracks from Pulse).

I ripped (as maybe many of you) the three first wipeouts of 32 bit. I put Fusion too.
Away from WipEout, i played so much Uplifting Trance and i thought it was not very WipEout style in the first time, but it feels good when i am racing, for example now i have a set from M.I.K.E. from March, of the Clubbin' program of Slam FM. I like when sounds Rafael Frost - Red (Ferry Corsten Remix) and i am in Ubermall.
Another tunes of this style could be
LNQ - You can trade me for something Good
Chicane - Saltwater
Myon & Shane 54 - Not a lot Left
Pitcher - Strike (Kay Cee Remix)
Pound & Harris - Formentera (Definitive Mix)
Some of these i putted in custom soundtrack.
But if you want another style with more wipeout feeling, i played these:
Oscar Mulero @ Zona 3 1999. A set from a Spanish techno dj of a radio program. A set of his best years probably. Techno and Hard Techno.
Sets from Derrick May.
Tesox - Go Ahead London
Emmanuel Top - Stress
Hallucinogen - LSD
Timo Maas pres Mad Dogs - Better Make Room (James Holden Remix) (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ypLYxUiz3pI)
LSG - Netherworld (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qQcx1gWOhmM&feature=related) (Either Original or Oliver Lieb 2004 Remix are good)
Moby - Go (Original (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N_Qwo8sT9U0) or Trentemoller Remix (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-Rm6zp92Fp8))
Hypetraxx - The Darkside (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_AggQh8fjIw)
and of course, the entire album of Future Sound of London - Dead Cities. Really cool.
And the last one: M.I.K.E. vs John '00' Fleming - Icecream
Golgofier
8th May 2009, 01:31 PM
Beach Boys - "I get around" on repeat... over and over again ;)
Nah, but I found that Röyksopp is a perfect match with WO racing :)

I simply listen to wipeout fusion, pure and pulse soundtrack... and some from previous episodes too
which i added some Pendulum, drum n bass fits good.
the titles are :
Propane Nightmares
Hold your colours
Fasten your Seatbelt
Bacteria Remix
Slam
Remember me
etc...
and with some DJ-Tiesto, DJ-Sasha, Chemicals Brothers to enhance my game experience...
i'm happy with the Resume option, cause most of them are 6' long.
However, anything with enough BPM fits...
Here is few i have on my soundtrack at the moment:
Tiesto - Flight 643 (Paul B. & Subwave remix)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ES5qWbbc1QM
nice track
but when it comes to audiosurf, i don't really understand why people spend ~10€ on something like this,

I've been reluctant to say I like these, but the fact is, I listen to them while playing WOHD a LOT - so it's time I face the facts...
Armin Van Buuren - A State Of Trance Year Mix 2008
It flows so smoothly, yet it has enough beat for Wipeout, I have it ripped as a single track - so it progresses nicely. Especially good for a long TT / SL session, or tournaments.
Nightmusic Volume 3 Mixed By The Thrillseekers
Another good one I've been playing to for a while.
Both of these have vocals, but they aren't distracting at all, the music seems to keep pace even with.

As my first WipEout HD soundtrack got wiped out (pun intended) when my PS3 died in the beginning of April, I decided to remake it and I use the same list with Burnout Paradise because I can't stand emo rock. So, without any further ado, here it is, sorry if the list is too long for the site, I've been on a little break from this site so I'm not quite sure if such a text dump is allowed.

slimjim - There are a few forum guidelines that it's good to try to stick to. They might seem a bit strict but make a fair amount of sense and really help out those who are using the forum from a mobile device. I for one was quite pleased they existed when I went away and only had my PSP to browse the forum on.
Here's the link in case you missed them:

For Fury, i will have this session, of two friends of mine.
Twinwaves pres - Tendance is Alive
A 7 hour set with 1999-2000 Trance music, for that i will have many of the fury time with this set.

More Noisia! I actually discovered HD from them, they are my all time favourite producers and I read that they were featuring a song in this game so I checked it out. I'd reccomend Diplodocus, Gutterpump, Hairy Anchor, their BBC breakbeat set and Fade to Grey, but just about any of their tunes rock.

Gutterpump is actualy from Hustle Athletics, thats one of their psuedo's.(so it is Noisia....only a different name haha) If you guys want autographs(lol), I can arrange that. (I think the shirts are 15 euro's or something..)

Yeah man, they release under the name Drifter and some other Hip Hop pseudo aswell, but you only really see the other names on the EP's. I've met them twice when they've played in Perth but I didn't get any autographs, I was wayyy too bent haha.

Yeah their hiphop is great stuff, rancid but fun. When we did gigs together(not that often anymore....getting old...ug)we always popped a bottle old jack and get wasted, aaah the good old days of drum n bass in holland....I do miss them... "Grun de Geksteuuu!!!"

I recently migrated from my totally customized soundtrack to solid Wipeout nostalgia: I straight up ripped the songs from Wipeout, Wipeout XL, and Wipeout 3, and plopped them all into a playlist. I'd have to go take an actual look at my old playlist to remember what's on there...

For Zone mode, my favourite has to be 'The Grid' by Philip Glass - it's divided up over 2 parts on Youtube:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FvZ3DBI1tO8
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=me04BWqr_Xo
I like the way it starts really slowly, then gradually builds into an superfast crescendo - just like zone mode itself. Fits in very nicely with the art on the new zone only tracks too.

Was just thinking about this thread today - perhaps the best personal soundtrack recommendation is not to put any songs that you really love on your playlist!
I had about sixty songs that I really liked, but now I'm getting totally sick of hearing all of them - would make up a new playlist - but there's too much racing to do!

Hello everyone :D
This is my first post, so hi all!
I hope thats all right, if not, feel free to delete this post, I'll post it in the other thread.
I know this is no download forum, but I hope its still allright posting it here in the discussion forum.
Okay, I have selected 111 tracks of my big music archive which I think fit very good with Wipeout HD. I'll "continue" the style of Wipeout, so they are mostly technological tracks.
I didn't just choose my favourite songs, I though how they would fit with wipeout. Well, taste differs, but I think you'll like it.
I have recut and edited some of the files and every file has the same Volume (95DB) and shouldn't contain any clipping.
If you turn Music to 100% and Sound FX to 60-70% it should be on the same Volume.
The Soundtrack consists of House, D'n'B, Electronic and Trance.
For some tracks you got to be a fan of that genre to like it, so don't bother with this pack if you aren't into Technological Stuff.
This pack is huge, so just downloading 1GB and then say no thanks is a bit harsh, so I made a little preview, featuring some tracks of every genre.
I hope you don't mind if its on Youtube:
Wipeout HD - Private Customsoundtrack Preview (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oWbKnlTY1TM&fmt=18)
In addition I screened the playlist, so you can see the titles and artists. Few tracks don't have specific titles and artists.

Part 2 (http://dl.getdropbox.com/u/558865/Xtra.part2.rar)

I uploaded it in two parts (without compression, so the extraction will be very fast!) because I don't know if Dropbox's DL Speed differs depending on how late it is! I downloaded with 450kb/s at 2pm GMT+1, so I think its allrighty.
Hope you like it. If you've downloaded the pack and tested it, I'd like to read your feeback, I hope for negative ones so I can improve my pack and give little updates as a seperate file.
Thank you.

If anybody have a profound interest in Drum 'n' Bass, Hard Step and Breaks, i just bought me self the Fabriclive #40 from Noisia and its pretty brutal, fierce and awesome :D I HIGHLY recommend it!!!
Seven Stitches from WipEout HD is of course included. Im gonna rip this down to my PS3 and play some while im on Fury tonite :P
Not really wipeout music but a lot of the fabriclive mixes are top notch i bought dj formats (#27?) and the stanton warriors breakbeat one and both are amazing, well worth buying now they'll probs be going cheaper as they're a few years old now

I beg to differ my friend, drum 'n' bass fits actually very well in WipEout :) I got some Grooverider, Amon Tobin, Dillinja, Icarus, and its very dynamic and fast-paced enough to improve the WipEout experience. Trust me and give it a try if you can ;)
On the same note, its true that breaks actually kick ass on WipEout. I got an old Plump DJ's mix i bought packed with Mixmag some years ago, and it still fits very good :) I'll see about that Stanton Warriors Fabric mix too!

I have a whole lot of recommendations to make, but for now I can just quickly say, it's worth trying any didgeridoo music you can find.
The Ginyu Force theme from the Bruce Falconer DBZ soundtrack is also exceptional. Right away from those first two beats at the beginning, you feel ready, like you're riding a horse just getting out of the gate!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c2aFtnkBq50
The Judge Jules remix of "I can't help myself" from Lucid. Helps you through that fight at the beginning.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ejLkyaloj4w
Big Pig's "I can't break away." Anytime. Anywhere. It will be just as awesome. Even at the beginning of Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RNlcn8aKXPU
Republica's "Ready to Go (Original Mix)." I still can't believe how good this song sounds.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y5pmwhd_MfA
Actually, there's this stock music song that appears at the ending of the game "Under a Killing Moon." I have no idea how to find the full version. I've tried contacting the people in the credits, the creator, everything. I know it's stock music though. It would be so awesome to have the whole thing. Here is the beginning, which someone was able to extract from a trailer.
http://www.provisionaustralia.com.au/Projects/uakmend2.mp3
I have all kinds of music that I have no idea what it's called or who made it... like this song that was played during an old "All Day Nippon" podcast. It was all in Japanese anyway, so I didn't understand it, but man is it killer. I'll try to find it.

Smash TV is lame - Alex Lane said that, I asked him what he recommends and he said try Eastern Jam - hmmm - I know this one from Chase and Status, and it is a fukkin banging tune (because C+S sampled a lyric from Bollywood - being Indian, I guess my opinion is bias - sorry)
Dubstep does rock though! - I'm getting into it, slowly...

I hate dubstep, its a slower dnb for people buzzing on special k. When tunes finally drop i find most of them a massive dissapointment. How on earth are you supposed to dance to it? :) when dnb nights turn to dubstep i go home :D
Smash TV isnt their best, but deffinitely not a lame tune, regardless of what alex said :)

No - I agree, I clicked your link and told Alex to shut it - it is a great tune for wipeout man... Alex can go back to Cocking in Sussex (Cocking :D - it's where he's from)
And yeah man, though I'm getting into dubstep (it's been forced on me - I have no choice) really really slowly, I totally agree with OBH saying "you can't dance to it" and for those who like "special K" - Alex loves Ketamine, so you got him in one man :D:D:D Alex is not pleased. What is dubstep supposed to be anyway? A cross between DnB and Trance? I mean, some tunes take forever to kick a beeLine??? I get impatient/anxious waiting for the break - and music should not make you feel like you are waiting forever to bust a move (Bust a move? :D - I dont dance - what am I chatting)
Drum and Bass rules though - always has, ever since the days of Cool FM 94.5 and Jungle Fever/RainDance/Elevation - the good ole days.

When I first saw the La Roux's video for "In for the Kill" (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JZ1Mi77nogQ&feature=fvst) at SingStar's OnlineStore, I thought: "Haven't I seen this before somwhere? Isn't there a distinct WipEoutish style to it somehow?
And it was, as you all can judge for yourself if you compare this WipEout Fusion image (http://cybershot.cy.funpic.de/kram/sonstige_bilder/WipEoutZone/renders/1.11.jpg), with the video above at 1 min 4 sec.
(more pics here (http://cybershot.cy.funpic.de/kram/sonstige_bilder/WipEoutZone/renders/)).
Also recommended is La Roux's last hit "Bulletproof" (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HecA6tJLVyg&feature=channel) or "Shield Activated" as it is also known as in these circles...:sonar

This being the WipEout music thread and all...
Does any of you have any idea of why a certain track wouldn't play in WipEout?
It plays as it's supposed to in PS3's own music player. The track I'm trying to
listen in the game is "Troopers (Distrakt remix)" by Huoratron (I know, the original
is better but I can't find it anywhere!). Anyway, I was wondering if there's some
kind of a censor for artist and/or track names as to why it wouldn't play it.
Has anyone experienced similar?

to a point, yes! I uploaded my Miles Dyson mixes to the PS3 from CD, they work fine normally, but in game - half way through a choon, it starts to skip... thing is, there's no bloody CD in the machine as I'm running Wipeout HD FUry from Blu-Ray... wtf? :D

Are the tracks in .mp3 format? I think the PS3 has trouble reading others, so it's best to stick with that

O_BR, I believe there's already another thread for discussing technical problems related to the music tracks. Please post tech problems there where there will be the most thorough discussion of the problems and the most likely place to get a successful solution. This thread is for soundtrack playlist recs.

^Any chance on getting a link to that? Because I sure can't find a thread you're referring to,...
@Dark_Phantom_89: The track is in .mp3 format which is why I am wondering why it won't play while the others do.

If I could have given you the link, I would have. I definitely did not feel like searching for it myself since I've been sick for three days so far, and I also considered it likely that at least one or two of the people who have the PS3 and have to deal with this issue would have already given you the link by today. Could we please get this thread back on topic. If you really must, then start a new thread for your subject rather than disrupt this one.
"This being the WipEout music thread and all..."
There are many threads devoted to music here in the forums, and at least two on technical issues concerning HD/Fury. IIRC, your question has been specifically discussed in one of those threads. I know, however, that the search engine can sometimes deliver irrelevant references.

I've been listening to them via Spotify for a while now and to me this is 100% WipEout music!
I totally recommend if someone hasn't heard them before.
