I was looking through my old gear at home, and 'lo and behold, i came across an old playstation favorite of mine, G-police. (and it's sequel, Weapons of Justice).G-police actually reminds me a bit of the feel of wo1 and 2097, so i searched G-police on the Wikipedia,
"The original game, G-Police, was released in 1997 by Psygnosis and Wheelhaus.
The science-fiction setting takes place in the year 2097, on a colonised Callisto (one of Jupiter's moons). The titular G-Police maintain order in the colony, both by combating criminals and regulating the powerful corporations present.
Weapons of Justice ends with a hook for the sequel, but a third installment was never created and the game's production team has now been disbanded. The games generally received good reviews, but did not prove popular enough to be continued."

G-police was probably forgotten after Psygnosis broke up, but it leads me to belive that the G-police universe might be linked with Wipeout.
