How Do You Save A Custom Grid?

This is driving me insane. Whenever I try to create a grid, the Save option is faded out. So how does someone saving it?

I noticed that when I tried to make a grid that wasn't completely connected, the save is faded. Make sure all the hexes are connected and try again.

also you need to leave at least one event(race) unlocked!
