Looks fantastic but i think you should read the forum rules. No image over 50ko ! (put a link or make thumbnails)
The leech beam effect on the Assegai reminds me of the movie Avalon !
EDIT : Congrats for the designs, Egg.

really promising new vid's and pic's coming out, hopefully we really will get our hands on it soon(tm). Is it just me though, or does the gui look a but unfinished - very hard to see anything even in a static shot..

Looks interesting. Where's that big panda head? I don't remember that from either Pure or Pulse. The ships looks great in general - especially the version of Eggs Alternative Goteki skin. I don't recognise that blue and yellow one in the first pic. Is that a new EG.X?
The environments, to me, look far too busy.

Looks like the branch from Ubermall, you can see the track split. Might be a new installation since the FX300 ;)

Spot on with regard to the location - the bear is an advert for a "clothing" company called Second Skin, AFAIK.

Eeeeeee! I didn't know Ubermall was in HD!!! Best Gamma track ever :hyper

The environments, to me, look far too busy.
The lighting and atmospherics should help balance that out, and they're not complete, yet.

Übermall looks like it's darker and has more buildings around the track compared to Pure.
That's a shame, Übermall always was so nice because of the bright colors and the feeling of free space.
We'll see.

Beautiful-- in some ways its more fun to look at picts than the movies :hyper
Two questions about the third picture:
(This one: http://ps3media.ign.com/ps3/image/article/854/854308/wipeout-hd-20080222014441053.jpg)
1. What is the triangular object in the center left of the image?
2. Is that a human body expelled from the exploded ship over on the right side?!

shame on you all for not responding to this
The panda head is from Wipeout 2097/XL on the PS1
as for the environments they are a sweet enhancement of the series and very traditional. The wipeout series on the PSP is playable to some degree and is fun but the PS1 series is still the best and you should use them for comparison not the psp versions. Lets hope the PS3 version pulls though to take the lead.
As for fusion on the ps2 well we would all like to forget that ever existed.

2. Is that a human body expelled from the exploded ship over on the right side?!
1. I picked it as a mine also.
2. No, I think it might be debris from the previous exploded mine casing.
The alternative Goteki 45 skin looks so sweet. I had actually previously downloaded this image and set it as my PS3's wallpapar :hyper

1 - A mine ... you can even read the warning sticker on it (never thought that would make it into the game at that resolution!) It says 'This is a proximity weapon. Once deployed, it is only to be approached by qualified personnel' or some BS like that :)
2 - I don't think so. Good idea, though

My God! You are right, you can read the damn sticker! That really is amazing.
Anyway, thanks Egg and everyone else for interpreting those picts!

Gorgeous screenshots. Wipeout HD is going to be quite a fantastic game. I can hardly wait!
I'd like to add, the tunnel section is a bit tacky. Yes yes I know "not finished yet" but it's still pretty distracting. Looks like the ships are flying through someone's acid trip.

are you guys looking at the same images I am? all I can read is "CAUTION Light Ordinance"

Lion, I can only make out the first part as well-- but I was amazed that I could see that much during in-game shots :)
Also-- there is the usual interesting commentary on the game over at neogaf...

The pics look amazing, I absolutely love the Feisar paint-job especially.
Actually, the mine says 'Light Ordnance' as far as I can see - typo?

***I'm going to leave my post untouched, to shame myself. But the spelling's correct in the screenshot, it's me who can't spell, it seems.***

From Wiki:
Not to be confused with ordinance.
Look up ordnance in Wiktionary, the free dictionary.
Ordnance may refer to:
Military:
Ordnance, the design, testing, manufacture, arming, maintenance and disposal of weapons and munitions.
Weapon
Ammunition
Ordnance disposal, the process by which hazardous devices are rendered safe
Para-Ordnance, a firearms manufacturer located in Toronto, Canada
Unexploded ordnance, are explosive weapons that did not explode when they were employed, and still pose a risk of detonation

Looks like HD is being received pretty well by gamers online, you just know it's going to live up :g
Amazing to think what they could have done if it was a full release on Blu Ray :o Good Lord could the PS3 take it??

Like, wow.
The thought density in that thread is very low.

but back to topic: Egg, you are a disgusting unscrupulous leverage-using cheat!

But, to be fair, that's what a lot of us are thinking inside when we see those screenshots. We're just using coherent sentences to communicate that. ;)

Can I get a 'HELL, YEAH!''? :g

not to be picky, but wouldn't a "HELL YEAH!" kind of negate the point your trying to make?
oh i see! its supposed to be ironic! that thread isn't the only thing with a "low thought density" I think my skull is as well...sometimes...
Lance

Exactly. It was intended both as a serious criticism and an ironic reaction as a demonstrator of that point. [yet more insight into the workings of the so-called ''mind'' of Lancelot Price]
