At the barbican gallery at the moment, there is an exhibition called "game on" which takes you on a journey through time and culture of videogames, starting from Spacewar, going through Pong on a 8 metre projector screen, 12 player Bomberman, and even the odd bit of the japanese oddball classic Go By Train!...... and even extinct systems like the Sega 32X and Saturn make an appearance.... a little something for everybody. Pac-Man for the grown-ups, Bob the Builder for the kiddies, and the original Sonic the Hedgehog, for the not-so-grown ups (like me!!!)
The only thing that annoyed me is the "music" section, where they got the wipeout playlists all totally wrong..... but other than that *minor* incident, its a well-rounded way to spend a sunday afternoon. Its open ntil 15 September, and the website is http://www.gameonweb.co.uk to have a look for yourself...
