For most of you this will be pretty transparent... other than the fact that the forum will rocket onto your screens at a much improved rate of kb/s!

We need to save bandwidth if the site is to grow and this is one of the best ways of doing this - hopefully it's made things faster for you too.

This, combined with the recent switch to style sheet linking instead of embedding, will move us back into the comfort zone :)

Sadly this has been disabled again :(

James (aka Amish Robot) pointed out to me that on the browser he was using in Unix, the forums were not accesible.

When the server version of php gets upgraded I can re-enable the compression, as the newer versions check to see if the browser supports compression before sending the page. Fingers crossed the server gets upgraded before too long :)

Wahey - the compression has been turned back on now. :)
