I thought we could have a little fun and post pictures of our desktops at home or at work, since I took a picture of mine yesterday morning after I got into work and my computer failed to see its hard drives;

Fortunately it recovered after several re-starts, but since I'd taken a picture of my desk I thought I'd share it. You can see my little pile of treats on the left of my keyboard (crisps & fun size chocolate) and my thermal mug off to the side of my Saturday Night Beaver mousemat. Behind the monitors is my cereal and to the left is a calendar featuring Gemma Atkinson from about five years ago - i.e. when she was still hot!

:D

image quality is **** to say the least, came off my mobiles useless VGA, but you can see me and and my girlfriends messy desk. You can also see my Pepsi from the KFC i had the other day, and those with a keen eye will also spot the sexy wallpaper!

Just to the right lies my TV and Xbox360, so i can access them easily from my workspace :p

Ok, I will join you in this Rob. I only have a crappy VGA camera as part of my cell phone to use right now. The picture is from my office at the university. You see a laptop hooked up to a monitor, some books, and lots of paper lying around. Other than the stuff on my desk, the room is mostly grey. :robot

Maybe I will add a picture from home later.

Here's mine :) Big pile of consoles with a custom-built PC sitting under my desk glowing blue. That's a PS3, PS2 and GameCube sitting there. If you're wondering about the koalas sitting by my speakers, my girlfriend gave them to me, I didn't buy them myself ;)

Monitor is a 22" HD TV doubling as a PC monitor. Not a bad bit of kit for £230 :) PS3 looks good on it too:

my monitor is a 24" capable of HD resolutions, but, because its an integrated iMac screen, i cant use it with my 360, so im very jealous of your setup Hellfire.. still, im more comfortable at my own desk, in my own chair. I worked hard to get this butt-groove.

It was pretty much for convenience's sake, now I really don't have to get off my arse :D

my Workspace (http://cybershot.cy.funpic.de/kram/sonstige_bilder/sonstiges/myWorkspace24-10-07.JPG)

It's my MacBook hooked up to an 19" LG. The pen next to the laptop is the one of my Wacom (see underneath the table).
Oh and I should not forget the Wrigley's Spearmint case (between monitor and laptop) that is filled with chewing gums. And of course this oldschool lamp that is probably older than I am ;)

Max, could be a silly question, but are your desk and drawers from Ikea?

Have a look at the desk in my picture, and the drawers sitting underneath it out of sight bear a striking resemblance too... :)

£500 says that is a lamp!

Yes, Charlie, they're from IKEA :)
Unfortunately the desk is a magnet for scratches (Okay okay, the desk's a few years old now, so that's ok ;)). But I don't care anymore, you can see them in direct light only anyway.
I had a wooden table before this one, but glass looks so much nicer :)

A person's mind is as cluttered as his desk. But how is that person whose worktable is completely empty?

Yes, won't show my desktop until I've cleaned a bit :D

Hellfire_WZ
24th October 2007, 08:31 PM
I deliberately didn't show the **** I'd piled on my bed just to make the desk look remotely uncluttered ;)

Haha, my work desk is about the only thing I keep clean, the rest of my house leaves MUCH to be desired!

Sause, I love the simplicity of your workspace, it looks so elegant! Fantastic!

Max, I don't even use a desk; I live on the floor and that's where my computers are, too. :D
I have one of those modular office cubicle things that is disassembled and leaning against the walls. My cat loves to climb the walls of the thing.

23" monitor, PSP, laptop, discoballs. everything where it should be :)

and in it's normal (and current) state:

randomized location for all desktop items, normal keyboard in use in another room, plate from snacks, and postits all over the wall from a photo scavenger hunt thing on another forum.

I like the quake 4 poster.
But why is there a lamp shining onto it :?

You never want a light shined directly on your computer, it would be harder to see the screen, as it would be harder to see what's displayed by the modem rather than the matter sticking to the monitor duh... ;)
