This topic is a classic, in every (french) forum I have gone there was one.
Simple, as you can see it : you just have to say what music are you listening at the moment you are writing (perhaps it won't interest the oldests people here...).
Course, no double posts, you must wait someone has post after you for write another post (and no two times the same music, very useless -_-")
I can also find a point of relation with WipeOut ; the music I like (I listen exclusively Rock, Metal or electro-rock like Daft Punk) help me to focus myself on the game, except the music given with the game that I hate xD
I start :

Funny that this should pop up, I just put on Carcass - Heartwork, to be followed by Arch Enemy's 'Hybrids of Steel', and perhaps a few Emperor (from In the Nightside Eclipse) tracks.
Most time I listen to music it's metal - thrash, death or black usually. Less of the classic stuff, and sometimes some good ol' grindcore. Uh, but that doesn't stop me from putting on Cold Storage now and again!

To be honest, I don't think this thread is worth a whole lot either unless people do as insertcoin suggested and actually comment on what they're listening to. Otherwise it just amount to spam and a waste of bandwith.
Lance
18th September 2007, 08:46 PM
Yeah, some of Cash's last recordings, when his voice was almost gone, are some of the best renditions we will ever hear. Desperado was another of his late performances that I like very much. He just seems totally real, no faking it, nothing done for show or to be cool or for the sake of ego. Just singing what the song says.
Lion
18th September 2007, 09:01 PM
the cool thing about Cash's cover of Hurt is that it completely changes the listeners perspective of the song.
you really get the impression in listening that he's lonely and it hurts.. strange since June was still alive at the time of recording.
I own the four American Recordings albums that were finished when he was alive. they're great road music :)

I play Pure without music, so most probably it will stay that way for Pulse as well. It has not stopped me from thinking about what music I would use, though.
So far, I have been thinking that something like Cult of Luna (http://www.last.fm/music/Cult+of+Luna), Isis (http://www.last.fm/music/Isis), Neurosis (http://www.last.fm/music/Neurosis) or Red Sparowes (http://www.last.fm/music/Red+Sparowes) could do the trick. On the other hand, their songs are typically quite long which might not be suitable unless Pulse has continuous playback. Using shorter songs, I think that Converge (http://www.last.fm/music/Converge) might be a good choice. Their aggressive style could be a nice fit with kai, eerm... infrastructure. ;)
Now, back on topic. :p

Works well with Twisted Metal why not the other type of racing
Lance
14th November 2007, 07:07 PM
Other type? Twisted Metal isn't any type of racing. TM tends to feel right with crashbang startstop sorts of music where racing seems to work better with more sustained evenly paced music that doesn't vary in volume a lot or switch tempos [unless there's a slow acceleration of tempo.]. Okay, so I'm a bit old-fashioned in my racing music. :D
