I got the score to The Fountain the other day and it was everything I'd hoped for and more. As a stand alone album it's about as good as anything I've ever heard :eek. The Kronos Quartet are on tour soon and have two gigs in London, around the beginning of May. Just a shame I'm in Devon at the time.

either lengthen the time you use sound waves or pluck strings or your piano keys

widen the sound

from either your using real string instruments or from the files on the program.

on 2:30 to 2:55
yeah you did the mistake any dj starter or producer does. loop, beat match, connection.

at 5:30
your 4 to 6, the counts from your first line of sound, then back noises
that sound like water droplets, light deep bass beats,
tighten it up

at 8:19
your bringing in the next part
after 8:30 go ahead and move forward with the next part. dont go after 8:40

at 9:45
make the drum-kick beat sound louder than that background brush noise
either make the two mix together with low and high mix or
something different

at 11:40 to 12:00 and after it
you felt like trying to go into a trance feel or journey with the sound?
mean i listen to enough trance that its why i don't do any of the LSD, Ecstasy, acid, heavy mary jane and etc. the music does the work for me.

at 14:30
sounds like Laurent Garners close to the Cloud Making Machine album
then after 15:30 changed my mind

at 17:15 to 17:20
you shorted the fader... shoulda went full or something

at 19:00 to 20:00
its connection went good

at 20:40
the wave and the hammer beats. hmmm...

at 22:50 bringing in the next mix
hear some carl craig mixes to hear a difference what you got and how he did

at 25:45 and 25:55
kill that high note or sound or use something different like u did after 26:50

at 30:30
coulda kept going with the sounds from the start of there before putting in added tones
yeah at 31:33 definetly could have gone further with it.

at 33:30 to past that
drum kick a little longer before speeding up
this is Techhouse. let it thrill

after 34:00
good you brought in the vocal

at 44:
you finally to choose to come out

I have been listening to this Surgeon mix a lot:
http://dj-surgeon.blogspot.com/2010/10/surgeon-at-forum-sydney-australia-23rd.html

Also, the Kompakt label recently put together a great compilation to aid Japan. :banzai Here's the description from the Kompakt site (http://www.kompakt.fm/releases/benefit_compilation_for_japan):

Even if the headlines are now dominated by other topics, many of our Japanese friends are still in a dire situation. Kompakt's family of distributed labels feels the urge to help, so here it comes: 34 tracks handpicked by the owners of some of the world's leading labels in electronic music: Ostgut Ton, Freude Am Tanzen, Bpitch Control, Dial, Kompakt, Comeme, Raster Noton, Monika, RRrygular, Vidab Records, Optimo Music, Anticipate and many more. Ranging from ethereal ambient sounds to pumping club sounds of Berlin, New York's new disco underground and leftfield experimentations, there's something for everyone. There are many options as to where you can purchase this special compilation, but we encourage you to buy the compilation from Bandcamp (http://kompakt-japan-benefit.bandcamp.com/) or Other Music (http://digital.othermusic.com/search/full.php?UID=528534%22) as 100% of the proceeds will go directly to The Red Cross Society Of Japan (http://www.jrc.or.jp/english/index.html). Bandcamp also offers you the option to pay more as an extra donation. The pricing for the compilation is € 7.99 for all 34 tracks, or € .99 per individual track.

Nightcrawlers - Push The Feeling On
if you not heard of them and their songs after the nineties.
shame on you. cause you if you go out clubbing and taking your girl or boyfriend out dancing.
doing the night life thing. feeling mix of house, club, dance, and more. you would take them on the floor and dance and dance and like it.

mylo - in my arms ( tocadisco remix )
the dutch still marked it dutch club scenes best song.
personally mylo did better going international. especially since he is not dutch

Miranda - Mars needs women (remix)
this is the third song with the name Mars needs women, she is the third artist i heard to do a song with this name.

When I was over in Indianapolis recently, my friend's brother introduced me to the music of John Hiatt, and I quite liked the songs he put on. So I've picked up his greatest hits album and I've enjoyed listening to it this week.

It's maybe not the kind of thing I'll listen to all the time, but in my collection I have bands like The Traveling Wilburys who fall into the same category - great songs and music that deserve a listen once in a while.

Can't believe there's been new albums from many of my favourite artists already this year - the Foo Fighters, The Strokes, R.E.M., and Moby have all had new releases - it's going to be a long, barren run after the RHCP album comes out!

KGB
9th June 2011, 08:30 PM
@lunar, where did you see him at? I only heard of him a couple of weeks ago after I saw him on a show that was on before later with jools holland, read a bit about him and he was in a band called Lift To Experience which I'd never heard of before either.

I really wish I lived somewhere a bit more happening so I could see some bands, the closest I got was Radio One's One Big Weekend which I couldn't get tickets for. Too old to go up and down the country now watching bands here and there.

@ Infoxicated, I saw REM at Huddersfield in about 95 I think, one of the best gigs I ever saw, wasn't expecting much but one of the first songs they played was What's the frequency Kenneth, I was putty in their hands after that :).

I passed up the chance to see R.E.M. back in the early 90's and regretted it, but when I was working down in London back in 2008 they were touring for the Accelerate album and I managed to get some tickets for the concert at Twickenham.

It was by far the best gig I've ever been at - the atmosphere was incredible and it was just a perfect evening. I saw some folk complain on Last.fm that they played too many oldies, but I thought that was brilliant - the lights for Orange Crush were just amazing (http://www.flickr.com/photos/infoxicated/2829086834/in/set-72157607111438622), with the whole stadium just bathed in this glow of orange.

If they tour for Collapse Into Now I'll be first in line for tickets - amazing band!

For anyone who likes the Foo Fighters - you can watch them live on youtube from 9PM (Time in Toronto - Don't ask me what time zone that is, I haven't a clue). Not sure if it's available outside North America, but worth a try for anyone. Make sure flashblock is disabled, otherwise you'll only see adverts and it's not obvious anything is amiss.

I think everywhere is being bombarded [worthy or not] by a instant retrospective of the now demise Amy Winehouse.
I never knew what all the fuss about her was in the first place, rather average IMHO compared to a Ella Fitzgerald or even Etha Kitt

Black Stone Cherry - good hard metal/rock, if a bit over produced, but I picked up three of their albums after hearing a bit on Qriocity.

On that note, I'm listening to a bunch of stuff on Qriocity. After the free premium month I renewed it at the cheap level for another month to see if I'd actually use it if I had to pay for it. Being the cheap service it's a bit limited - some tracks only allow a 30 second preview, which is crap, but the music quality is superb for a streaming service - head & shoulders above Spotify, I think.

I probably won't renew it because I can't really use it on my phone with the crappy data coverage I have - that and it won't Scrobble to Last.FM either and being a stats freak that's quite important to me.

If you haven't taken up the free 30 day trial then give it a whirl, though, it's well worth it. :)

Wow TEMET I really like that, sounds like really early CROYDON/CRAWLY era CURE.
I remember Robert Smith & Porl Thompson and myself getting smashed out of our heads on their first visit to Sydney in the late 70's.:dizzy

I've been listening to the first new release for 8 years for Gillian Welch.

The Harrow and The Harvest.
http://www.gillianwelch.com/albums/

I LOVE this music with a passion.
It's very simplistic, but also extraordinarily deep and emotional, the interplay between Gillian Welch & David Rawlings is exceptional.

If you have a decent stereo, this is the sort of music you should at least have a serious listen to, if only to realise how crap today's music sounds. Both technically [as in headache inducing compressed crap] and lyrically inane, if not idiotic.

Get your soul back.

I'm not to old to enjoy the original, Tiesto had his hot moment remixing two version of it. It's still hot like Suburnian Train and Traffic.

But the original is best

Moving Melodies by ATB, its good mellow, flow, melody.

You can get drunk as hell and been dumped by the baddest woman you have ever had in your life.

And you will forget all that bull that has happen to you and crack a smile.

The Prodigy: No good,
You damn right, you no good for me and I don't need anybody. It was the hottest track for Prodigy, I workout to it each time inside the church gym. And i still havent been convicted for it.

Cause electronic dance music is just to HOT!

^finally someone with taste in music n that knows the Saints

not only something classic

Just got something from a group that was with them in those years.

The Orb
something called Auntie Aubrey's Excursions Beyond The Call Of Duty
pretty damn good, when i was looking for a complete set of the Call of Duty soundracks from each game. found this and it got downloading today.

sounds pretty good on disk two, where all the remixs and mix are.
Orbital has a lot of their handy work in there. and thats great from a group that is also a duo team like the The Orb.

--- What I Usually Listen To ---

I listen to a variety of different types of music. Really, I don't favor any particular genre or band, I just go with "Whatever sounds good". It doesn't matter wether it is Techno, Rock, Metal, Dubstep, Classical, or even Rap. If it sounds good (or at least catchy), then I will listen to it.

But if I had to pick favorites, probably Daft Punk and Klaypex (and maybe LapFox, but almost nobody knows who that is).

--- What I am Listening to Right Now ---

But right now, I am listening to Wolfgun's music. Wolfgun makes Electronic Music (mostly Techno, and some of it tends to remind me of WipEout (especially his song Volk (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j_l7EQY7oR4&feature=relmfu))). I think I got addicted to his music or something.

--- On a Related Note ----

Turns out that Wolfgun is a WipEout fan, so a few days ago I told him about WipEout Zone. Hopefully, you will all get a chance to meet him.

I love music, I mean I really do, it can uplift me, pick my mood off the floor chuck it up in the air.
Bit of old clubber (don't go really now) and even now some choons bring back the buzz of a packed club heaving to a proper hard set.
I feel the need to share and as this is a wipEout forum and the games are known for their awesome soundtracks I felt you guys may appreciate them.
Todays choon I heard on the way to work and it put me right in that Friday groove :D

I'm all over some classic soul/r&b right now (Bobby Womack, Bill Withers, Marvin Gaye, Smokey Robinson, and more!). I don't race to that, though. My racing tunes lately have been along the lines of Flying Lotus, Rjd2, Teebs, Four Tet, Koushik, and Nujabes.
