Ive been checking out Beardyman, a Uk Beatboxer. Some of my friends saw him at the Glade festival and to be fair he is talented! He constructs entire mix sets using a mic and a couple of Korg Kaoss Pads which loop and add effects to his beatboxing.

His YouTube Channel. (http://www.youtube.com/user/beardyman) Check out '303 Gabba' in particular, absolutely awesome! Also his live looping at Cargo sets!
On Annie Macs Radio 1 show. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tssWXZ-zpeA\) This is a mash up of loads of classic dance tracks (Aphex Twin, Leftfield and others) all done by beatboxing and using Kaoss Pads.
Also found this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EwweTmR3ZoU&feature=related recreating Massive Attack's teardrop live at a club!

I wanted to answer the whole thread in one post, but no one would have read the whole thing and my lunch break is long past over!
There must be around one hour worth of music already, hope you like some of it!

All right, here we go, starting with grumpy:
- This, as already stated by some users, is useless:

Robot Rock - Daft Punk
Of course, Daft Punk are useless too, but unless a link to the song (or a live performance of it) is given so that I can be 100% sure that it's bad, or at least a comment of some sort, then there's really no point.
Now that I've been gratuitously offensive to a good part of this community, please feel free to criticize my tastes in music! (oh, and their movie is even worse than their albums ;)).
I usually don't know the lyrics of the music I listen to, please forgive me if they're offensive/so bad it hurts...

-Dr. Angryman: UNKLE
Oh, how I loved the Psyence Fiction album! I guess Lonely Soul (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cehMFXLJruw) is a classic to many people here. The song is used at the end of the crap movie 'The Beach', and in an Assassin's Creed trailer.
And the music video for the beautiful song Rabbit In Your Headlights (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cud_k9f6tqk) is dead creepy...

-Silent: Jeff Beck - Loser
Great song, if we're talking about "Beck" (Hansen). This guy is a productive genius, I'm amazed at how he always renews his style. Though paradoxally people who don't like his music say it's always the same, and it's kinda true! Are you pop (Think I'm In Love (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A7WdKAvZ2ec)) or disco (Sexxx Laws (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sk_TTSaqi-g))? :)

-Silent: Marilyn Manson
Here (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7Da3qrozMv4) is the proof that Manson is safe for kids! Gotta love The Nightmare Before Christmas, don't you think? :)

-Silent: Red Hot Chili Peppers
No, thanks! :) But I've come to like one of the many albums by John Frusciante, guitarist from the band: Curtains (http://www.deezer.com/en/#music/john-frusciante/curtains-365964), sad pop/folk. I believe the lucky bastard is friends with both Johnny Depp and the most talented and egomaniac Vincent Gallo (who btw, is a musician: fan myspace (http://www.myspace.com/vincentgalloisbillybrown)).

-Silent: The Cure - Close to me
Apart from the old hits, I really liked Bloodflowers (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sL8CUm1TaRI) when it came out.

-Silent: The White Stripes - Seven nation army
The White Stripes rock. Every single album they did. From here (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oYf2vEJE69c) (Jimmy The Exploder) to there (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8xsF9fHdAfo) (You Don't Know What Love Is (You Just Do As You're Told))! It feels like they have the same kind of energy that the Pixies had, with short and intense songs.

-Lance, Rob, Lion: Johnny Cash
His version of Personal Jesus (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jQcNiD0Z3MU) sounds great, doesn't it? The complete album (http://www.deezer.com/en/#music/depeche-mode/violator-300911) by Depeche Mode as well, of course! :g

-Dr. Angryman: Underworld - Born Slippy Nuxx
"Meh" to the orginal, but I like the cover (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TqQIFgbpfXY) by the German band "Get Well Soon" really much! An album worth buying, right Ben? :)

-Dr. Angryman: Björk
When I raced Odessa Keys for the first time in Pure, it made me think of the music video for All Is Full Of Love (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EjAoBKagWQA). If by any chance someone knows of a recording of My Favorite Things by Björk, I'm very much interested! She sings a part of it in the movie Dancer In The Dark.

-Dr. Angryman: The Avalanches - Frontier Psychiatrist
IMO the only good song on the album it's from, but damn it is good! And the music video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U8BWBn26bX0) is excellent (and has already been posted on these boards I know :p)

-rejj: Final Fantasy soundtrack
There's a great Canadian band called Final Fantasy, apparently because the guy who created it was a fan of the game. Pick! (http://www.deezer.com/en/#music/result/all/final%20fantasy%20please%20please%20please) (Please Please Please) Pick! (http://www.deezer.com/en/#music/result/all/final%20fantasy%20song%20song%20song) (Song Song Song)

-Lion: Portishead - Mysterons
Glory Box (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yF-GvT8Clnk). For a long time I thought Tricky did a cover (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8tWgD-1Blsw) of the song, called Hell Is Round The Corner. Then I believed Portishead were the one who covered Tricky. And then I realized they both used the same sample from "Ike's Rap II (http://www.deezer.com/en/#music/result/all/isaac%20hayes%20ike%27s%20rap%20ii)" by Isaac Hayes. Now which one do you prefer?!

-Linchpin: Sigur Rós
Go buy "Ágætis byrjun", "()" and "Takk...", they are three amazing albums! For those who don't know, they're an icelandic band with long atmospheric songs, caracterized by the fact that the singer often plays guitar with a bow. They recently released a DVD of a tour in Island, where they play in totally unexpected places. I've yet to watch/hear it, but I've been told it is great. Hard to pick a song (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=34ZtT4Th9Ys)... (Viorar Vel Til Loftarasa)

All right, that's 30 pages covered, back to work...

It's me again :g

-yeldar2097: Radiohead - Karma Police
I used to be a big fan, until they messed up and released their last two albums.
Tom Yorke sings on three tracks of the Velvet Goldmine soundtrack, with a much lower voice than he usually sings, it's quite surprising.
Oh, and the songs are awesome :g: 2HB (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hxcDwzsx8OQ), Ladytron (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uHTkKUYpPlU) and Bitter-Sweet (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1dMJFQvaHis).

-chaos80: The Knife / Fever Ray
This is weird music to me. Weird but fun. and visually too :) Plus they sang with Jay-Jay Johanson! I listened to his first three albums to death.
Please have a taste :) one (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vQJmgWITlvI) (So Tell The Girls I Am Back In Town), two (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AxFpiomwXZk) (Quel Dommage), three (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CNoanRrzkWI) (Poison)!

-Motorsagmannen: Sonic Youth - Goo
I haven't listened too many of their albums, but I loved Washing Machine (http://www.deezer.com/fr/music/result/track/ladytron#music/sonic-youth/washing-machine-249100)!

-Motorsagmannen/osama bin haydn: Tom Waits
Tom Waits is awesome, I'd love to see him live! Just a lil' one for the road (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=78YpvJI6eSw) (Road To Peace);)

-alterego: Goldfrapp - Utopia
Ooooh, nice! Hear hear! (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xC4jgcT2N_0)

-Motorsagmannen: Arcade Fire - Antichrist television blues
One of the best bands that I've listened to these past few years. Let's put more on the table:
Rebellion (Lies) (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NNfWC4Sgkcs) (can be fully heard in the great HBO series Six Feet Under) and My Body Is A Cage (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DXr3CCQPxJY).
And they rock on stage (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=752bW5cjXzw)!

Page 60, I'm getting there, stay tuned if you're not bored!

-lunar: David Bowie - Hunky Dory
Thanks a lot lunar! I only knew Changes & Life On Mars and the rest of the album is great!
What about Ziggy Stardust? Have you heard it too much or something? Gotta love Five Years (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zq3EZhT3G7U)!

-alterego: Lisa Gerrard
I would have LOVED to see Dead Can Dance on stage. I don't know many albums but I've listened to their live album Toward The Within countless times (Rakim (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=itwL5y0He-k)).
I had never seen this vid before. She's a bit creepy... Feels like they threw her out of the covent because she was talking to the devil... :cold

-Motorsagmannen: Depeche Mode - Never let me down again
Wrong (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xJYD8VVilIE): Love the song, but the singer's style? Not so much... :)

-lunar: The Smashing Pumpkins
I was a huge fan as a teenager, saw them live at a French rock festival when I was 13 :)
I used to know most of the lyrics by heart even though I didn't have a clue what they meant for the most part...
They lost inspiration at the end, but still. Ava Adore (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HYnihTlVuzQ&feature=PlayList&p=57307663E2742640&playnext=1&playnext_from=PL&index=6).

-KGB1971: Jeff Buckley
A damn shame he died so young! All the live recordings that were released after his death are excellent, but I'm sure you know that already!

Five new albums. Well, new to me;

Boy Kill Boy
The Raconteurs
The Who - Then and Now
The Wombats
Scouting for Girls

I got all these in a bit of a splurge on Tuesday. I always found Scouting for Girls a bit irritating, but I don't think I gave them a fair chance before, as Last.FM threw me a track I hadn't heard before and I really liked it. Turns out the whole album is just brilliantly uplifting - I love it! :D

The Raconteurs is just quality, as is the older Who stuff, although I'm not convinced by the newer material. Boy Kill Boy was another Last.FM recommendation and I got the album for £3 - bargain!

Oh, and if all that seems a bit rock and roll for you electronica fans, I'm also listening to DJ Cruze's Summer Ibiza mix - get it from www.djcruze.co.uk (http://www.djcruze.co.uk/) :)

I usually listen to my music while playing WHD now, or simply relaxing and tuning out. While looking around the web I usually have a news, lecture, debate, podcast, audiobook, or youtube video going in the background, to fill in all those mindless gaps waiting for pages to load with something that makes me feel smart.

I'm listening to Mark Kermode's film reviews from BBC's Five Live right now. Yeah, it's Friday, so I'm not trying to feel that smart.;)

Just kidding. Actually I mean the Jap trio named Boris (or BORIS, or boris, depending the genre of the album...).

These guys (and girl) play everything from metal to laid back experimental-jazzy-sounding stuff...okay I know that's not a genre. ;)

Try listening to "Statement" or "Rattlesnake" for metal, "Farewell" for Mogwai type sounds, and "Rainbow" - because it's just beautiful.

I got some grief for using Boris - Korosu in a wipeout youtube video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NkopXy0piPA). I didn't get it myself. I felt the tempo worked perfectly.

I tend to hum quietly to myself for much of the day. That way I can 'listen' to music in my own head and still hear the world around me. Not wearing headphones helps me survive as I can hear things while I'm out and about, e.g. cars approaching, anvils making that whistling noise as they fall from the sky - pretty standard really. Now that I've been reminded of this tune. I think it's what I'll be listening to in my head for at least the rest of the night.:rock

{Never considered JPOP - not sure exactly what it is - but I like weird, (different). I got the soundtrack to an anime I bought (Samurai Champloo) coz the tunes were really cool through the series. Would this be considered JPOP? or is it just anime muisic :lol - either way, my playlist is getting a bump! :rock

Some good suggestions here peeps :)

EDIT: I forgot - I'm a massive Yoshida Brothers fan, and have them on my Playlist too - how did I forget that :oops

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u7FPL3J0-ng&feature=related - Link to a Yoshida Bros tune called Storm, and the anime in the video is actually Samurai Champloo - btw, this is strange coz thought I love the anime and Yoshida bros, Yoshida Bros didn't contribute to the samurai Champloo soundtrack at all - so whoever put this video up has got the right idea - it's a good combo :)

Single comes out on May 2nd! Official Music Vid. in the link is great. If you were a Pendulum doubter from their last album check this out it's a straight up 360(or 180 lol but whatever) and I can wait. Their new album 'Immersion' come out on the 22nd of May I believe.

Punk meets surf meets glam meets rockabilly meets hard rock. Great stuff! A three piece band, anybody will tell you it takes (guts, balls, etc.) to take the stage like that.

Try watching the live versions of Saturday Night, Rain Dog, Cat Was Dead, Punky Bad Hip, Sweet Days, Skunk, or Derringer, if you wanna see some talented rockers at work.

30 seconds to mars. Kings and Queens was just on the radio at work. What a Nice mellow choon!
I can listen to just about anything while zoning... If im in the mood.. Sometimes i prefer just the sound of the craft and airbreaks when i got my serious face on.
Pendulum is good for bopping around on Wipeout. i agree their new 1 "Watercolor" is very good despite critics accusing it of crossin over to close to pop. I also like "Fasten your seatbelt!" from the hold your color album quite apt for WOHD i think.

Shiina Ringo is just so wonderfully weird. I hate to admit it, many times I admire her strictly for her bizarreness. Yeah, she's got super talent, but there aren't a lot of people that talented that are simultaneously that odd (in "popular" music at least).
