It took them 5 years to get that many. It took me over 5 years here to get 6k. On another forum I hit 10,000 in about one year and a quarter. But both of those forums have at least one thread that serves as a chat for several members. The Opera forum has a whole lot of such threads. It makes for a very high server load.

Or, in the case of one user at the Adult Swim forums (cesspool), one user racking up 10K posts just by posting the ":|" smiley in about 90% of them.

I hate that place with a burning passion. WipeoutZone is cooler anyway. ;)
