PSP Camera

I got my PSP Go!Cam today from Game, after a friendly sales assistant said I could have it a day before release. :D

It's pretty cool - haven't shot any movies yet, as I need to clear some memory card space, but the picture quality seems very good - even at 480 by 272.

As much as I missed your beautiful face, Rob, I had it good enough in my mind from march so I would have liked a photo from one of SL's walls with some WipEout artwork more than you with SL's ceiling ;)

Actually, the atrium might not be out of bounds and that has some nice WipEout stuff up on the wall.

I'm not even sure what mine cost - I bought that and Virtua Tennis 3 and used some cash from my reward card, but I think I paid the upper amount of £34.99 for the camera. I could have shopped around, but I did want it then and there, plus Virtua Tennis 3 for £19.99 was not to be sniffed at. :)

So far I'm really impressed with the video quality - the PSP setting of 480 by 272 at 30fps is lovely. I uploaded a video to YouTube last night and it turned it into crap - all pixelated and horrible. :|

Foxy, what settings do you use for capturing video, image quality, frame rate etc? I made a 2.16 clip today and found it ate 96 MEGS of space on my memory stick!!

For movies I've had it set at 480 by 272 @ 30fps and yes, they are giant.

For images I've had it set to a number of things, with best results indoors when I've set the white adjustment to "fluorescent". Granted we have those energy saving bulbs everywhere which are fluorescent, so that might not apply to everyone.

Put it this way, I'm glad I have a 4Gb memory stick - I had it filled with so much stuff that I had to delete a movie (I, Robot) just to give me four hundred meg or so free to record movies. I'll lose 80 of that today when I get the Killzone Liberation patch, so roll on the price cuts for 8Gb. ;)

Yeah I got a 4GB stick when I bought the cam theres just under 2 gigs free I just thought that file size was a little large for so little film

Do Sandisk have an 8 gig stick out yet? I've only seen the Sony one which will be more expensive I would imagine at about £160

Nah, I don't think they have one out yet.

Official Sony one is "only" £95 at PicStop - which is only £30 more than I paid for 4Gb at xmas... jees!

Are you ever going to take that neGcon out of the box? IMO, they should be used because museums can always construct a duplicate based on the well-worn one remaining example. :)
