Congratulations!!:D

2 months early, theres definitely need for speed in the Sartwell genes ;) good to hear he is in great shape.

eLhabib:

i think you are mistaking "came 2 months early" with "came in 2 months" ;)

Wow - congrats Al. :) :cake

Two months early - that must have been a shocker :o

Our baby Elisha was due on the 30th of December last year and arrived on the 31st, right on schedule, but I guess it's not unusual for a Sartwell to try for the fastest time possible. ;)

The first couple of weeks are pretty cool, actually - it's all so new and different that it's almost kind of fun.

Best of luck to you and your family for all that lies ahead. :)

Congrats Al :D
I can already picture the kid when he is 15 years old complaining how his father is still hooked to a series that had its first installment a quarter of a century before; in a way similar to the people who still today listen to disco music from the 70s. :p

Wow, great news!

Put a pillow on your lap, have a bottle nearby, the kid will sleep like that for _hours_. I got some serious gaming in that way. 8 )

And since the wife is sleeping while you're doing this, for the first (and likely only) time in your life, she'll be immensely grateful for the gaming you've just done.

As Rob says, a golden time indeed.

Al, congratulations !!!

You make sure that little Sartwell guy gets a hold of a baby-neggie (the black one i guess) as soon as he can! Instead of cartoons, let him watch your best races Al. Instead of milk and baby formula, pour Red Bull into the bottle, to improve his reaction time (uhmm, whatever that would be useful for at his tender age of ONE day...)Hell, let's bend his fragile little mind while we have the occasion to!!! ;)

Congratulations! Wow, you're in for the adventure of your life. I know, been the father of a little baby boy since last october. My wife went eleven days over - not a surprise, considering my performance on the wip3out tables.

And Task's tip is true, at least for the first couple of months. At five months, the kid is getting livelier and more, ahem mobile every day.:hyper

heh - I have that to look forward to! :D

Up until they're self propelled it's just a matter of figuring out what each cry means, I think. If you're disciplined and get them into a good routine then it's easier to spot if there's something wrong, other than the usual suspects. Sometimes they'll drive you nuts, crying for no apparent reason, rejecting their bottle and somehow nothing you can do is right. Then other times they'll do this and melt your heart (http://www.flisscity.com/gallery/general/elisha/57.jpg), and you feel awful for getting frustrated with them when you cant understand what's wrong.

It's a steep learning curve and, after only two months of experience, I'm still daunted to think that I'm only on the cusp of what being a parent is all about. It's thinking ahead that blows my mind - my daughter Elisha will be 21 on 31st of December 2027... that just seems so... mental. :dizzy

Thanks alot everybody!! I better not catch that boy using a nintendo wireless controller, I have "the Glove" modified before he ever touches that thing. I don't know if I mentioned this before, but my wife and myself have had my grand nephew under foster care for 2 years and finally adopted him. Funny thing is, my niece looks like me, so he does as well. His name is Rennie Sartwell, so Arnaud will have two people breathing down his throat in about 20 years. I do suspect that they will be nagging me about playing some new type of racing game that just doesn't quite cut it and bothering me about playing a game from 1997. For anyone on the board worried that their times will get beaten by 7 year olds, don't worry, there is no way I could allow them to beat my times probably :) (I'm kinda competitive). My way of making sure, buying them the playstation 6 and some other games besides wipeout!
What is frustrating about the whole early thing though, is that he has to stay in the hospital for about another month and a half until he gets to a decent size. Luckily he is doing great right now, and playing with a black negcon to get the feel for it :)

Congrads Al! I'm still trying to beat your times on Talon's Reach... lol. The nose pitching up and down doesnt seem to help much :p.

Oh, one more thing, my wife wasn't into Jordan's middle name being "Negcon". The nerve of some people!
