I just received a new PSP because my old one had a dead pixel. So now I have a different serial no. Does this matter a lot?

Dunno... did you register at yourpsp.com?

Cant imagine it would matter much - there must be some way of changing the details of your registered PSP if you have a new one or more than one. :)

I could register again, but don't see why. Is there an email address or something I could mail to?

It won't make a difference if you use a different PSP than you registered with. A friend of mine couldn't register (USA PSP to the Euro section of the Website) so he hooked up his PSP and logged in as me. The only point of them asking for a serial number is make sure you actually have a PSP before downloading.
