It's not half as good as biting through this game. It's so motivating. I recommend you not to use any cheats. In former wipeouts it was like christmas to get the Piranha ship finally, for example.

Best wishes from a veteran

The animals cheat in 2097 was goood...man the piranha was hard to drive with that cheat active... kept thinking I was weaving about :P
and phoenixx is right... a very large portion of the satisfaction with this game comes from opening new bits up.
the only cheat I can think of that I would even contemplate using myself would be one that allowed you to host multiplayer games in speed classes you are yet to unlock. (I still haven't beaten rapier)

argh! another one.
the next person to post in Yodaspeak may possibly receive a long essay about originality and the perils of beating dead horses. :)

yes, i know i used a touch of Yodaspeak in the post in which i announced to 'manic' the temporary deactivation of his account, but that was to illustrate by example the repetitious banality of his over-the-top posts of two days continuous.
so there. :P

actually, I just chose yoda-lingo because it fitted the wiseass-ish content of my post quite nicely. no danger of repetition there

to chill you have :P

secondary warning: offtopic
primary Warning: rant:
it's a repetition of what many many internet folk have been doing in forums since SW3 was released. highly tedious. actually it had already got sort of old during the summer of 1980, not long after 'The Empire Strikes Back' was released. i've been hearing this same thing for almost twenty-five years. possibly it is time for something newer.

as far as ''chilling'' is concerned, i live in Florida; it's summer; i don't use air conditioning, and i'm pretty damned intense and opinionated. this may perhaps be evident in the rant.
[and BTW, today [30+ degrees C], i was up in a 41 degree C attic installing insulation for someone who does use air conditioning.
another secondary warning: sarcasm: hilarious good fun.
and i'm hungry, ''chilling'' will come later]

 Lance, you are the man! Very entertianing post...

I realize this post is off topic as well...but, for praising your post, 'warning I will not recieve?' (I had to...I'm new to this Yoda thing  )

eLhabib
18th June 2005, 02:24 PM
well, since this is the only forum I am a member of (I'm not really keen on forum checking all the time, but for w'o'' I make an exception), I didn't get much of that yoda crap yet and didn't realise it has worn very old already. Anywho, to me it was funny, if y'all didn't enjoy it: SORRY.

yikes! only one forum?
ahh, the Power of Wipeout, drawing in even the non forum-addicted. i've cut back so that i only check two of them several times a day, but in my more general searches for various topics of interest, i often run across fora and specialist message boards. damn near all of them have people doing Yoda imitations. the Power of Lucas. or maybe it was just Frank Oz that came up with that style?

hey on wipeout 2097 the plasma was sort of lots of little orange things and on wo3 it was a blue ball and fusion a white ball 8) what does it look like on pure (the actual bolt not the weapon icon) oh and also how long does it take to charge or is it instant in pure

Hellfire_WZ
19th June 2005, 01:16 PM
A large purple sphere, kinda like Van-Uber's super weapon in Fusion. Still takes time to charge.

1. The plasma bolt in Fusion was in a bright blue
2. check out the offical site ( >> www.wipeoutpure.com ) and go to United states, then to game info, after that you click on the weapons section and then on the plasma bolt button - there you will see it :D

hey you know that if you put the unlimited weapons cheat on in wip3out EVERY weapon and powerup is available well why is there not every power up on 2097. eg when youre on that first track i think it was called tallmans reach you dont get shield and autopilot

Sven
19th June 2005, 08:36 PM
Because pressing fire really fast, it would be annoying to randomly get sheilds and autopilots that don't let you fire things anymore. Something they apparently overlooked in Wipeout 3

Besides you're not using that cheat for unlimited shields and pilots anyway (or are you!?)

username
19th June 2005, 08:53 PM
so it was done on pourpouse in wo2097 then 8O , i wouldnt mind using it for the autopilots but i totoally agree on what you are saying about the shields, :P on wip3out cloak and reflector got on my nerves with the weapon cheat

I remember using the weapons cheat on 2097 and it wouldn't give me mines, so off it went

Lion
20th June 2005, 07:18 AM
would be interesting to use that in pure which lets you fire weapons while the shield is active and while autopiloted

username
20th June 2005, 11:15 AM
in fusion the auto pilot fired weapons for you, does it still do that or do you need to fire them yourself

Lion
20th June 2005, 11:46 AM
weapons control rests entirely with the pilot

i know what an earthquake is but what is a disruption bolt :? sounds cool 8)

phoenixx
20th June 2005, 05:27 PM
if you hit your opponent it's pretty cool. if you get hit it's hell. there are different kinds of impact: airbrakes disabled...okay... view panning as if you tried the wrong drug...okay... or: it reverses your steering :pirate :bombhead you lose seconds over seconds. certain moments you ask yourself how far you could throw a psp.

edit by Lance: needless quote removed. read the guidelines, please.

Hellfire_WZ

Other effects include jerking your craft from side to side, slowing you to a near halt, or (strangely) activating an autopilot.

eLhabib
20th June 2005, 06:12 PM
actually, most of the time I am not wondering how FAR I can throw it, but rather how HARD I can make it hit the next wall. :bombhead

disruption bolt really is the worst of all weapons in singleplayer, as it has close to no effect at all on AI ships. In multiplayer, however, it's like a foul egg: if you hit your friends with it, they're gonna be REALLY pissed

Hellfire_WZ

I was having a race with a mate a couple of weeks back and I managed to put three disruption bolts up him. I've still got a nub shape imprinted in my face....

one thing you can rely on...lol... but right at the end of a tournament handed through from 1st to 8th I feel REALLY pissed. in wo 2097 there was always the chance to come back. in fusion and pure things happen too much by chance. nevertheless - I love pure and it's atmosphere and feeling. and I consider it as a challenge that just takes a little more time.

PS: hey hellfire, I was always told to wear a helmet at racing... sometimes it helps

ok then now i know what a disruption bolt is, do the ai craft fire all the weapons because in wip3out they didnt fire:quakes, plasma, energy drain and stealth. if in pure they dont is there a cheat to make them fire every weapon available.
i reckon that if in wo3 and 2097 they fired all weapons it would be such a better more challenging game

Dogg Thang
21st June 2005, 12:58 PM
Yep, they fire all the weapons.

phoenixx

wish AI couldn't use the disruption bolt. BTW, haven't heard about any pure cheat yet.

Rapier Racer
21st June 2005, 11:47 PM
I havn't seen any cheats for Pure as such either, just hints on what you have to do unlock things which is excellent because cheats are just rubbishy spoilers anyway :P if you want it earn it!

I think some games are better with cheats.

Case in point MORTAL KOMBAT DECEPTION - Oh dear God do I really have to play that woeful 'quest' crap for 14 miillllion years to unlock one of the main game's 12 shaded fighters?? MK Deadly Alliance was almost as bad.

Wipeout on the other hand allows unlockage of everything up to Phantom Mode without every corner of the game being visited first. Pure had the balance just right. 8)

Rapier Racer
22nd June 2005, 12:36 AM
lol I played deception for about that long to get all the stuff, I think certain games are good with cheats, like GTA after you do it without the cheats it can be fun to put the game into riot mode, total insanity :radar when it comes to Wipeout I don't mind daft animal cheats but cheats that unlock the content, neh, unless of course it's that situation we all love so much, dead memory cards

i agree, :P it feels better the first time you unlock that craft you alweys wanted or that new track you never heard of
