First of all i would just like to say hello, i am new here and this is my first post.
I am a big fan of the Wipeout series, especially the music, i am a DJ and just can't get enough of the wipeout tunes.
I have recently been listening to the SSX 3 soundtrack in-game and there are some good songs in there that i would love to have but aren't available on the released soundtrack for the game.
Is there any program that will let me extract the music from the game files, from a ps2 disc?
I have done this type of thing before with the wipeout fusion disc and it has worked a treat, no problems although the program i used was only for the wipeout game.
Are there any that work on most games or does the program need to be specific to the game?
Any help would be very much appreciated.
Cheers

Hey welcome to the zone!
Erm, i was one who fell for the soundtrack cd, it was good but i was disappointed with the total of tracks. I loved the soundtrack and it was the music which converted me to the rock/metal scene.
I have had a look at the disc and i noticed some text files which show the song has seperate files which are the seperate layers of the music - i beleive.
I will investigate further. I'm going in :)
Edit: the music is in a .big file go to this site and d/l the extractor
http://www.cncnz.com/files/generals/utils.shtml
If that doesnt work, try visiting merqurecity.com (the ssx equivalent of here.)

i have been doing some research on the .mus filetype and, it doesn't look good my friends.
this file is like sheet music, the music is in there although it is programmed to respond differently to different atributes that are happening in game.
i was most interested in the Fischerspooner song "Emerge", i managed to find a high quality version on the net which i have uploaded to my own space if anyone would like it.

I highly reccomend you download this track.

Ever since EA went down that 'EA Trax' route the tunes for SSX have become more 'Pop'. The tunes are good for SSX3 but they seem a little random and too keen to pull in the kids. Prefered the first two game soundtracks wid the Breakbeat and Funk and all that... but anyways, bring on SSX4!

S'all bout Hip Hop Phenomenon - BT and Tsunami One and Move It With Your Mind - Plump DJ's off SSX Tricky. Plus it's easier to burn onto Minidisc then SSX 3.
