to any one who knows, I have the original wipe out, wipeout xl,wipe out 3,wipe out fusion all fore the PS one and two wipe 64 (nintendo 64) I do not have a PSP or wipe out PURE I am from the United States and was wondering if special edition wipe out 3
and the limited edition wipeout fusion were only overseas games? I am eventualy going to try to get my hands on every wipe out game in existence. If you know please let me know thanks!! (I do know that 2097 the computer version is the same thing as XL on the ps.one corect me if I am rong.) Also I know thier is a couple of diferent cover arts fore the same version of some of the games. It is not my destination to get everysingle different cover but if any one has pictures of all of them that would be cool if you posted
them in a reply thanks again..

in order to have all versions, you would also have to get the saturn wipeout, 2097 for PS1 (which is a bit different from xl), w3oSE, and the PC versions of wipEout 1 and 2.

It's somewhere in that neighborhood, I don't have all of them yet. AND I'm still finding more occasionally

How different are the games in different regions, I know the j-land W3O had the extra prototype tracks, but otherwise are the differences limited to the local display system (PAL/NTSC/SECAM?)

Wipeout 3 ntsc - A medium floatiness

Wipeout 3 ntsc - J A little less floaty with less turbo scraping and a slightly more forgiving collision detection on the track Assegai and Icarus are improved slightly and two extra prototype tracks and a prototype ship(very fast)

Wipeout 3 Pal - High floatiness resulting in more bouncing and hitting the ceiling, collision detection is same as wipeout 3 ntsc A

Wipeout 3se Pal - Very high floatiness which works great with 8 extra classic tracks, but is worse with the original tracks(bouncing off the ceiling). This has the same collision detection as wipeout 3 ntsc - J and also has the extra prototype ship and tracks

Wow, floatiness is different for every version... I take it this applies to 2097 and W'O" in different regions (and on different consoles) also? Why do you reckon the versions differ so much in floatiness? I mean most games are not changed in the slightest for different regions, surely it's a bit of a needless task changing floatiness for every region (though different platforms is understandable,) especially since your average gamer won't play WO as much as me or yourself, that is, enough to really notice. Oh well, cheers for clearing that up Zoolander, I had wondered before why you swore by the jap version of W3O, now I guess it makes sense. :)

wipeout 2097 is floatier than xl, and times are slightly slower. Also there is a wierd bug on phantom where you tap your brakes at 344 and it will speed up to 400. This is not present in xl. Only the brake tapping on speed boosts work in xl(with piranha). As far as the original is concerned, I'm not sure.

So, where the heck would you look for these versions?!! 8O Just in small towns you drive through, stop and look in some small game store, and find it in the back under the stacks of other games? Is that about the only places you'd have luck, or could their be some Wipeout tooth-fairy somewhere selling 'em out?

Don't forget the Amiga versions of wipEout and wipEout2097, and of course the Mac versions (not sure if there was a Mac wipEout but I know they ported the Amiga version of 2097 to Mac as both are PPC formats). Though beware the Amiga versions will require a quite high-end Amiga, a PPC chipset is required along with various other high-end bits and bobs.

Also I believe there are 2 different versions of the wipEout box-art, one with a long-box and a sleeve of some kind, never seen it myself, I've only got the standard grey cover with all the lines everywhere and the ship 'pencil-lined' on the front

I don't have the amiga version of wipeout 1(anyone want to sell it?). Go on ebay, advanced search, type in wipeout, videogames, any country, any currency, 200 listings, and about 400 wipeout listings should come up
