Downgrading for better lap times?

[Confusion]

I've been experimenting with this and it seems to work. Downgrade the airbrakes of your Piranha and you seem to go that little bit faster around courses like Mandrashee 3. Seems to work since those airbrakes don't have as much power (hence they slow the ship down less).

Downgrade it less for those twistier tracks though... or you won't even make it around. :smile:

Of course this has no effect on tracks like Florian Height 3... you don't need airbrakes for that course! :smile:

Totally agree, I've been messing with up and downgrading for a while now, mixing it up with different ships to see what sort of results I would get and there is definitly a optimum for each ship it just takes a fair bit of time to find out what it is!

it definetly works, i shaved off 1.4secs from my record using no upgraded airbrakes with piranha
