2097 side scraping

does it slow you down, speed you up, or have no effect?

Depends. :) The effect is not as recognizable as in WO3, but basically scraping works the same in both versions. Even though in 2097 you won't get "shot back" onto the track when you dig your back too far into the wall, you will experience a slight speed-up. If you scrape on a straight, though, it will just slow you down. My advice would be to not scrape at all in 2097, because taking curves by staying as tight to the inner wall as possible is significantly faster in both Vector and Venom class, and in Rapier and Phantom scraping has no noticable positive effekt whatsoever.
