I made a siggy for the Gaia forums that I go to quite a bit.
Now this is my first real attempt at doing something Wipeout style, and my photoshop skill is relatively low. It took me roughly half an hour, and I want to know what you guys think...

Looks fine to me. Maybe you could give it a more homogeneous feel (seems a bit too much two-parted to me), but that's good work so far.

fine, but is there IcarUs at the first pic? It should be Icaras.

good work for a photoshop beginner, everything lines up nicely.
place them side by side though, theyll have more impact and will suit the dimensions of a forum better.

oh, and steer clear of embossing and drop shadows if you can... theyre so last year ;)

..although technically I did do the front end for the site in December... so that is last year. :)

it was also a little tongue in cheek, not really any direct criticism. those two effects just seemed to swarm the graphic design market last year and i feel theyve had their time.
onward and upward!
