I finally got around to write down my lap times in Wipeout 2097, only to find out I can't compare to the Records on the web site. I can t get a working query for some reason, might be the '#number of players' thing ?

Anyways I'm a fan of wipeOut 2097, mainly. I bought the original WipeOut only afterwards, it was nice, but the controls weren't as good. Then I bought WipeOut 3 and the Classic edition with the WO2 tracks.

I don't know if it's just me, but I can get some serious adrenalin rushes when I play WipeOut 2097. The controls are just perfect. When it happens, it's better than Espresso !! :D Unfortunately I rarely get any comparable 'feel ' with WipeOut 3. I tried playing both again lately, and I wonder if it's not the lack of 'Turbo' in WO3. WO3 controls are a little smoother, but at great speeds I 've found I lacked the raw control of Wo2.

Anyways, I'm not a 'PRO' yet. I find the challenges to be very stressful, considered you have to do all the tracks in one go. I've been playing Wo2 mostly during 2000-2001, and still have to finish the PIRANHA challenge (challenge II).

My preferred tracks in terms of sensation are Sagarmatha, Phenitia Park and SPILSKINANKE.

Here's my times, I'd like to get something for comparison, so I can challenge myself!! :)

prepare yourself for a bit of a shock, competition for times against other humans can lead to serious improvements in times for the competitors. bear in mind that the times shown are for the NTSC region version of the game, and will thus be a bit faster than PAL

Do hyper jumps or 'wall scrape + turbo' tricks work in WipeOut 2097 / XL ?

yeah, that's what i thought when i first saw the WO3 times posted here in the WipeoutZone.

as far as i know, there's is no scrape-turbo, and there is definitely no hyperthrust to jump with
